When requesting assistance to book a rental car, a staff person obviously took a gratuity from an agency, which delivered a car and demanded cash for the total one week rental. To give credit, the first car was toosmall for 3 large adults with large luggage, and a larger car was located in less than 2 hours, but I have never before rented a car with a demand for cash, an no facility to record eligible drivers licences and credit cards. In a previous trip, the hotel performed properly. I have rented more than 300 cars, but only a few in Greece! This was inconvenient and a great disappointment! Keith Ritchie

We found this hotel to be the closest to the old and modern town at the same time. Perfect for our trip. It didn't have an own parking lot but an agreement with one next door. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We were there an hour earlier for our check-in, they had the room ready in less than ten minutes. Record time check out. Highly recommended!

Simple breakfast but very good. Very convenient for transportation and town center. Area fairly quiet. Front desk staff very pleasant and helpful in answering our questions. Able to accommodate an additional night stay.

When we checked in, we were told they had a problem with the pipes and the water would be shut off for an hour while they fixed it. Four hours later, it was finally back on. During this time, we called the reception desk and visited it in person only to be told they weren't sure how long it would be as they didn't actually know what the problem was. It was the middle of summer, 35 degrees, and no effort was made by then to provide bottled water to drink, or provide alternatives for the toilet during this time. The whole situation was handled very poorly and made for a horrible start to our stay here. The room wasn't serviced throughout our stay, which was odd as it is not a self contained apartment building and the included breakfast was of a very poor standard.

Ok for a quick stay
The hotel is quite old and it is facing a busy street. We just stayed one night before heading to Chania. We were picking up the rental car in the airport and there is the direct bus on the main entrance of the hotel, so that’s super good. Also the room was clean and breakfast was having a good variety of stuff. Also, staff is super friendly and helpful. I would recommend if you need it for a short stay.

The room is very small, almost hard to walk around, but there's a nice, spacious balcony that opens up to the street. Housecleaning in the morning is very noisy, you can hear furniture being moved above the other floors, and it's also noisy from the street below. The location is good, the staff is friendly. Close to main streets in the city and to many restaurants that stay open late. For the price, it's a good deal for the location and friendliness of the staff.

A good base for exploring the town
The room was noisy at night - but most Heraklion rooms are, due to a lot of street noise. The breakfast is good and it is worth getting a deal that includes it. The area is not scenic but is in a very practical location with good ordinary shops and cafes nearby. This is a very convenient hotel for getting around Heraklion by foot.

Really nice hotel in an awesome location
Iraklion Hotel is a great option in Heraklion. It's nice and clean. Our room was very comfortable, spacious and clean and it's recently renovated. Walking around from there is great and it's a few minute walk from the harbor. Breakfast is nice. I'd love to stay there again.

Let down by taxi service
The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and pleasant. The wifi service was variable but usually slow and not good enough for video calls home. The bed was slightly hard but I got used to it eventually. My big disappointment was the taxi service I booked through the hotel for my return trip to the airport. The woman driver was a bit of a fraud - I was told on booking that it would cost me €13 but she charged €17, no valid reason given. I know she overcharged because it cost me less from the airport to the hotel and thats usually more expensive and I had more luggage and arrived late at night. I feel let down because I made the booking through the hotel and feel they should be using taxi drivers we can trust or not offer the taxi booking service at all.

Courteous,kind and helpful staff who couldn't do enough for you.The room was adequate for a short stay.We had a room overlooking a busy road which made for a noisy time when out on the balcony.Lion square and the walls were all within walking distance,as were the archaeological museum,history museum and fortress.Some excellent eating places around Lion Square and the buzz of the place was amazing.

Modest hotel near centre
The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the central square of Heraklion, on a busy street. The rooms are modest, but the fixtures and A/C are relatively new and work well. The breakfast was good, and the personnel friendly and helpful. The wifi was very erratic in our room, virtually useless, but worked well in the lobby. For the price I paid, it was good value.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is old and although clean it is basic. Not in a great part of the city for walking around by yourself at night. But not far into the main part of town, so that was good.

You get what you pay for
I spent only one night at the iraklion hotel as I arrived late on the ferry. The hotel is 25mins walk from the port but only 5mins walk from the main pedestrian area with lots of restaurants and cafes. The hotel is old and basic but clean and the staff is very friendly: I was checked in in less than a minute which was amazing! I managed to sleep relatively well despite the inexistant sound proofing. I'd use again for one night if need be.

Paid more for a room wth 2 beds but received one double bed room. Also paid for a room with air con but air did not work. Asked to move to another room but was told that hotel was full. It was very hot and noisy from street noise ... we did not sleep all night. I WOULD LIKE A FULL REFUND OF MY PAYMENT.
