Very Disappointing

Pros: Positives: Pool area very nice and the fact that it was right on the beach was lovely.
Cons: Rooms, buffet
Location: Location was a 15 - 20 min bus ride into the main town square
My daughter and I arrived to the hotel and were shown to our room. The room was very small and very dark and dingy. I do have to say that we did have a full view of the sea which was very nice. I went to the front desk and asked if we good possibly get a room that was a little larger. I do have to say that the gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful and polite. He proceeded to show us another room which was slightly bigger. My biggest complaint is that the room looked very tired. The tiling on the floor was cracked in several places and had stains embedded in it. Also the curtains in the room had various stains on them. Even if the room was cleaned it left an impression of being dirty. Rooms definitely need to be upgraded. Next the buffet. It did have a variety of items but we were both disappointed in the quality of the food. One day at lunch I was eating a Greek salad and bit into a tomato. There must have been a small pebble or something in the tomato. It ended up getting logged in one of my teeth, which I cracked and I had a mouthful of grit. This was totally disgusting. Turned me right off. Ended up going into town for dinner for the remainder of my stay and I was very selective as to what I ate at the buffet.

Your comments for the rooms are taken in account and I am really sorry that we didn’t manage to meet your expectations even with the second room. As our aim is, always to upgrade our service , we have already included a room update in our future plans. I am really very sorry with the incident with the tomato in the Greek salad as it concerns our hygienic standards of our food which we value most and we follow the haccp standards. Your immediate report to the maitre would have given us the possibility to investigate on the spot the malfunction in the production line of the specific salad and change at once the salad on the buffet. Allow us to specify, that the production line of all fresh vegetables requires 3 times washing and especially tomatoes are offered in the salad in small cut pieces. Even in this late stage, we would like to reassure you that we have already cross checked the relevant dpt and we have informed our chef. Exceptional food

Food and service was exceptional. The Chef was very cordial and inviting as was his cooking staff. The service staff at meals and bar were of the most accomodating nature. Staff and administration are united in providing a most comfortable experience. Highly recommend this hotel. See you next year.

Disregard any negative reviews from the past. They almost put us off booking. Arriving with fingers crossed, we were absolutely delighted with the hotel. Location- just along the coast from Heraklion, it is easy to access the capital by bus but yet you also have the beach and holiday town of Ammoudara. There is a direct bus to the airport and Knossos, making it ideal for a stay in Crete. The hotel is cleaned to extremely high standards. The staff seem to continually be wiping surfaces and the cleaning staff do a very thorough job. The pool and beach are ideal, and we didn’t have to worry about rushing to put towels on loungers. All staff are hard working and come across as a good team. Arriving at 11pm, food had been kept for us and a number of useful points shared e.g. market day. The staff were very informative; on asking a question Matheos gave us a map of Heraklion and an outline of where to go. Perfect for a relaxing and stress free holiday, but with plenty to do and see nearby.

Kleines AI-Sommerhotel direkt am Strand

Pros: Kurze Wege: in 2 min überall, sogar im Meer Günstiger Preis für all-inclusive Hoteleigener Strand
Cons: Höhere Qualität der Speisen, Durchzug im Restaurant reduzieren, Abendunterhaltung etwas leiser, Tanzen für Erwachsene, 2 Zimmerschlüssel
Location: Hotel am Strand, das Heraklion am nächsten liegt, ist geeignet für Strandspaziergänge bis dort, wenig Wassersportangebote, keine Wanderumgebung
Nach Urlauben in 4*Hotels auf Teneriffa und Mallorca haben wir hier als älteres Ehepaar erstmals AI richtig genossen. Das Hotel war in fast jeder Hinsicht (Zimmer und Bad, Restaurant, Speiseangebot, Unterhaltung, etc) kleiner als die bislang besuchten Häuser, dafür bot es neben AI eigenen Sandstrand mit Liegen und Schirmen, der einfachen Wechsel zwischen Pool und Strand möglich machte. Im Urlaubszeitraum (11 Tage 2. Maihälfte nach Pfingsten) reichte die Zahl der Liegen für die Nachfrage aus. Die Speisen waren neben einigen Standardgerichten abwechslungsreich und überwiegend gut zubereitet, doch blieb die Qualität der eingesetzten Lebensmittel oft zu wünschen übrig. Zum Frühstück fehlten mir Rührei und Schinken an etwa jedem zweiten Tag. Kaffee, Bier und Wein waren für uns ok, (Wein ließ sich auf eigene Kosten upgraden, Bier vom Fass wurde in anderen Hotel-Restaurants überhaupt nicht angeboten); Defizite gab es bei Fruchtsaftgetränken. Unser Zimmer im Haus gegenüber der Poolbar und besonders das Bad waren klein, es fehlten Kleiderhaken und Stauraum war knapp. Im Flachbild-TV gabs ca 8 deutsche Programme mit teils schlechtem Empfang. Die Klimaanlage wurde nicht eingesetzt. Die Abendunterhaltung war bis fast 23:30 im Zimmer recht laut bei offener Balkontür. Personal war in allen Bereichen sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Bei schlechtem Wetter wurde es einmal eng im Restaurant, dann scheint das Hotel auch nicht viel zu bieten. Es gab wenig kommerzielles Sportangebot in der Nähe

Pros: Other than the above, I loved walking out of our room and being straight on the beach with the crystal clear Aegean lapping a manicured beach front.
Cons: More information on amenities and local trips would have been nice. Also refresh the water in the room with the tea/coffee kit.
Location: My wife and I barely made it out of the resort so I cannot comment. However we did take the happy train tour and visited plenty of the shops nearby.
When first arriving you may be forgiven for thinking you've made a mistake. The surrounding area is somewhat run down and badly in need of some TLC. That said the resort itself is a gem. Beautifully clean and quiet with friendly and extremely helpful staff. The food was of a good quality and variety. The rooms while a little on the small side are perfectly comfortable.

Cons: Un seul point négatif...une ventilation un peu trop bruyante dans la salle de bain .
Choisi pour pouvoir rayonner autour d'Heraklion, nous avons été agréablement surpris par de nombreuse points positifs.Le personnel, très efficace et courtois mais toujours discret.La situation, l’environnement n'est pas celui d'une cité balnéaire haut de gamme, mais l’hôtel a su mettre en valeur sa plage privée, ses jardins et ses bâtiments parfaitement entretenus.Les buffets sont variés et copieux, la nourriture est très fraiche mais cuisine internationale oblige elle manque d'originalité.Chose non négligeable, à l'accueil tous le monde parle Français !
