Nice place, bring your no limit credit card.

Los Suenos is a beautiful property with a great setting there is no questioning that but all of the food and services are so expensive that it’s hard to relax. $10 to use the putting green, $4 for a towel at the pool, and $60 for a skirt steak are beyond captive pricing. It’s the security and service maybe what you think you’re getting but you’re really paying for is the name.

From Check In To Check Out

Posted Jan 20, 2018
Pros: Everything
Cons: More umbrellas for the sun lounger by the pool
Location: Quiet resort next to the marina
Everything was heaven from Check In to Check out. Fernando at front desk was super nice and helpful. All the staff at the resort was very pleasant and accommodating. One of the best resorts I’ve stayed in. Didn’t leave the pool side for three days. loved every moment.

Great resort for families

We loved our stay at Los Suenos. We spent most of our time at the pool - lounging, swimming, swim up pool bar. Staff was excellent. Our room was spacious and clean.

Amazing resort

Our family of 5 had a great time there. Everything from the friendly staff, clean room, beautiful grounds, awesome amenities and on the beach location were ideal for a fun and relaxing way to end our trip in Costa Rica. I can't say enough good things about this resort.

Illusion vs reality.

Posted Dec 4, 2017
I stayed at Los Suenos for 3 days as getaway to relax & play golf. The entire resort is beautifully manicured & carved out of a lush rainforest next to the ocean, so your first impression will be that of a tropical paradise. However I many hiccups that made the stay far from perfect: 1. Be aware that the resort is on a bay. There are no waves to surf & the beach is dark brown sand. Hiever ut is very quiet. But If you wish to surf you will have to rent a car or taxi to jaco which is about 10 miles south. 2. Breakfast, bottled water, and coffee in the lobby are not complimentary. 3. Green fees at the adjacent golf course are not included in resort fee and this is $160/day excluding twilight. 4. During 3 days I had no less than 3 reasons for a mechanic to come to the room for repairs: balcony door would not slide, no drainage from bathroom sink, and cable tv was out. 5. Valer parking podium was often understaffed & took 10 minutes once to find the staff who could get my car. 6. There were three power outages on Saturday causing loss of power from a few seconds to 5 minutes. 7. One of the 2 elevators was out of commisnon Friday. 8. Several of the tiles on the pool floor were missing & made the surface jagged & dangerous. I cut my foot while walking across the pool. Hopefully these experiences are a fluke. The hotel staff is invariably friendly & eager to help, which eased the stress of these problems considerably!

Resort is five star, clean, friendly staff and amenities are world class! The pool is absolutley incredible. Resturants are excellent (although they are fairly expensive) - the food is incredible. This was our second stay @ Los Suenos and it will not be our last!!

Go PR

Be prepared to go their way or the highway! Few alternatives for food other than local cuisine which is sweet and rich. If you’re on a restricted diet, forget it! (Especially diabetic!)

Amazing Hotel; Definitely would go back

Posted Nov 14, 2017 on Hotels
We had SUCH a good time staying at Hotel Grano de Oro! From the moment we stepped out of the car the staff was wonderfully welcoming and the 'boutique' hotel feel was warm and comfortable. The rooms are cozy and tastefully decorated - more traditional feel, which was perfect and a little indoor terrace. We were in room 5, which is in the smaller section of the hotel right over the restaurant. Absolutely perfect! Reasonable pricing. Everything in the mini-fridge (except alcoholic drinks) were included in the stay. They also gave us two drink vouchers (that could be used for alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks) at the bar. We asked to use them for non-alcoholic drinks with breakfast and they graciously said yes. The restaurant was great. We had breakfast every morning in the restaurant and the dinner one of the nights we there. Friends that are local to the area wanted to go back for dinner on our last night in San Jose (we were staying at an airport hotel the last night, but came back for dinner). The staff was very friendly and attentive. The prices were competitive, so no problem having meals there unlike most hotels. Spa services were really nice. The massage therapist came to the room to get me and walk me over to the spa room. I had a nice massage and well priced as well. Service charge of 10% is already included in services, you can leave an additional tip if you'd like and the staff doesn't pressure you either way.
