Very welcoming and comfortable (again)!
This is our 3rd stay during the Christmas break as there are some great walks close by. The food is superb and service is fabulous. Not a big choice for vegetarian diets. The room was again spotless with good amenities although felt in need of a little TLC this time. All in all we would definitely recommend staying.

This is a great pub with just 3 rooms and I would recommend to book one if you have the opportunity. The pub locals were very friendly, the food (both dinner and breakfast) was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the landlady. My wife and I had a great two night stay.

Don't miss this spot!
We couldn't have been happier with this stay. The inn is everything you want when you book a quaint English country inn. Absolutely every person their was charming and friendly and particularly the owners; a lovely couple. The bed was SO comfy. It's clearly a fav with locals so book those dinner reservations early, it fills up and for a good reason. The food was delicious! We definitely will return!

Autumnal short stay
This is the second time we've stayed at the Lamb Inn and of both occasions we've been very happy with staff's friendliness and accommodation. The welcoming atmosphere in the Inn with the roaring log fire and excellent evening meal and breakfast make for an enjoyable stay. The room is comfortable with all the facilities one requires in an excellent setting within the Peak District.

Absolutely amazing stay. Staff were amazing and room was more like a cottage. All amenities attended for during stay. Food was sensational, fresh, tasty and the breakfast was simply wow. Definitely be returning!

Our 3 day break at the Lamb Inn was very enjoyable. The room was decorated to a high standard and very comfortable. Breakfast's hot foods were cooked to perfection and the evening meals hearty and beautifully cooked as well. Overall, we were very impressed and would certainly consider coming back again in the future.

Cracking place, really homely rather than posh, great country pub with awesome food and a lovely room. Definitely recommend it and will be back for another day walking!

incredible food, brilliant rooms but no WiFi!
Incredible food both in the evening and the following morning for breakfast. Service was great and everyone was very friendly indeed - the rooms were very comfortable with clean, modern bathrooms and classy room styling. Despite the road above the rooms, the noise was fine and only noticeable for me through the open bathroom window. My only complaint is the lack of signal and wifi in the rooms. I'm sure for some this will not be an issue given the location but as we were staying for business, a total inability to connect was frustrating, wifi was offered in the pub/restaurant but did not work for us. Not the end of the world at all but certainly something to be aware of and perhaps an improvement for the rooms.

An outstanding place to stay, eat and drink.
We could not find fault with any aspect of our stay. Our room was spotless, well decorated and very comfortable. All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly. The pub was very cosy and welcoming, the food both in the evening and breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.

Would highly recommend a stay here. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. I had the rib eye steak followed by sticky toffee pudding. Delicious! As was the full cooked breakfast. Room was very clean and tastefully decorated/furnished. King size bed super comfy.

Bedroom was well furnished and had lovely homely touches. Very well lite with comfortable bed. Lots of tea ,coffee, hot chocolate and coffe bags in the room plus an nespesso machine. During our stay we had chocolates left and wine in our room.

Restful and refreshing in the Peak district.
The Lamb is extremely well-placed for access to many walking possibilities in the Derbyshire dales and around the areas of Kinder Scout to the Woodhead moorlands. It provides a welcome sight nestling in low location. The bedrooms are modern and very well-appointed. The restaurant is olde-world and the food was delightfull with a nice range of beers.

Excellent place to stay. They have three newly redecorated rooms, in a warm cozy boutique hotel style, with great bathrooms. The staff were very helpful, welcoming and friendly and the food was great. If we are this way again we will be staying here again.

Spent 3 nights here and we couldn't have been made more welcome. Rooms are ground floor and to the side of the pub, they are clean and tidy with everything you may need. Restaurant does get busy so you really need to book.

Thoroughly enjoyed this place, lovely, friendly staff, excellent food, the pest kept Peroni I’ve ever had off the pump, nice clean rooms and the comfiest bed we’ve ever slept in. Only problem was I left £100 toothbrush behind and about £30 worth of toiletries, but that’s my silly and no reflection on this lovely pub. Definitely staying again soon!

The room was very comfortable and clean. The pub had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very efficient and very friendly. The pub landlady is charming. We had a lovely evening meal served by some very good staff and the breakfast was excellent. We were aware that the internet was poor so accepted this. We were able to get on WiFi in the pub. Poor WiFi is an ongoing problem for most places in the Peaks and not the pub’s fault.

This place is a little gem, we couldn't have been happier or more pleased with our choice. We booked in late afternoon but was left a lovely welcome message on my phone. The room was gorgeous and very comfortable with so much thought put into all the extras included. Our evening meal was delicious and staff/hosts couldn't have been nicer or more thoughtful. My only complaint is that we were only there for one night

The Lamb is in a beautiful setting, even when you arrive in mist and rain. There was a warm welcome from the staff and we were shown straight to our room, accessed from the car park on the ground floor. The room was presented to a beautiful standard and was spacious. Large wooden bed, plenty of storage and a huge ensuite shower room. Tea and coffee facilities plus a coffee machine finished the room off. We ate in the restaurant - a typical oldy-worldy pub with a bar area and two eating areas. The food and service were excellent. We would stay here again in an instant.

We stayed in room 3,very nice well decorated,modern and clean. Food was good,and service steady away. Our only major concern was the mattress,if you read this review,don't just lie on the top of the very thick quilt,but actually get in the bed and try it. It is very uncomfortable and has troughs in it. If the mattress got replaced we would definitely return.
