HAVE TO HAVE A CONCIERGE WHO SPEAKS ENGLISH

Posted Dec 8, 2017
Pros: LOCATION
Cons: ood was dreadful for breakfast , plastic knives and forks , plates , and cheap fake sugary cereals .
Location: the furniture show is nearby twice a year and showtime too.
The hotel had an immigrant who was on duty, but he would have been fine if he understood English, and knew what Expedia was, and how the rate was different. I could not check in until the night time as that was only when a changeover of staff occurred and they understood that I was wanting to check in. Most annoying!

Older facility, well maintained. Good breakfast. Not much to do near this motel.

Decent cheap place in High Point

Was a decent cheap hotel/motel close to High Point Uni. Strange characters outside but had decent rooms.

High Point not the best choice

Posted Aug 21, 2017
Pros: Location, breakfast, quiet, good A/C, good wifi.
Cons: ANTS and DOOR. See "experience" above.
Location: It was in old down town, so most things not business related were at some distance.
Not a bad location, though entrance was on one-way street, so you had to go around an extra block to get in legally and safely. The room was overall satisfactory and the breakfast was good and plentiful and the room where food was served was clean and orderly with people keeping it stocked quite well. The desk guy on check-in was very pleasant and accommodating, but the guy the next morning was distracted. The final check out was with a pleasant lady. Our main disappointment was that we had to keep killing small ANTS on top of the furniture and in the drawers. There were never a lot at a time, but we kept seeing them in several places over and over and one woke my wife crawling on her neck. She did not sleep well after that. The maintenance man said, I guess we'll have to get an exterminator in. Finally, the very heavy, but secure door had to slammed with the force of a wrestler to get it to shut, was difficult to tug open, and almost impossible to get the dead bolt to set.

Hotel was acceptable. Rooms smaller than expected but in no way unmanageable. A good solid stay with nothing outstanding and nothing aggravating.
