Quiet, clean and friendlyPosted Sep 15, 2015
Had a wonderful experience. It was just what I was looking for:) a break from it all. The owners were the best and very kind! Complementary breakfast was great! And they were very accomendating of my request. I would stay here again. The staff works very hard to make the hotel comfortable for its guest. Perfect for being in nature and enjoying fresh air.

The best value of what?Posted Jul 16, 2015 on Hotels
Only stayed for one night passing through. The room was dirty, but spacious. The breakfast was a coupon for a cup of coffee and a bagel at a cafe. Ok, but nothing fancy. Wouldn't stop here again.

Be careful with your propertyPosted Jul 12, 2015 on Hotels
Was on a motorcycle trip with a friend. Woke up in the morning to find both our bikes had been knocked over on their sides. Mine sustained a decent amount of damage. Not the hotels fault, but there are several rooms rented to locals displaced for one reason or another. The one camera was not able to capture the incident. This is not what I expect from a hotel and advise to pay extra for a nicer hotel and location if you want a secure environment free from the local thugs.

Okay for the cost.Posted Jul 4, 2015 on Hotels
For the cost, it wasn't too bad. The motel staff were friendly. The clump of hair in the shower drain was especially revolting, but overall it was okay for the price.

Dirty bed bug motelPosted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: Check in and check out were a breeze.
Cons: Proper cleaning. Proper disposal of infested items. Put larger showers or shower/bath combos. Open the cafe earlier than 8am.
I stayed in a non-smoking king bed room. Bed bug excrement on the fabric headboard. Dried brown muck stuck on the comforter. The bed was hard - and I don't mean firm, like a firm mattress would be - I mean stiff and flat. White powdery dust on the wooden panels on the headboard. Thick layer of dust on all lamps. Each light fixture and lamp only had one working lightbulb instead of both bulbs working. Remote control was dirty and oily. Cobwebs on light fixtures in the bathroom. Shower stall was tiny (like, cruise-ship tiny), which should be switched out for larger shower or shower/bath combo, since the bathroom is so large. Toilet seat and cover were flimsy. Leaky faucet. Between the hard bed and the evidence of bed bugs, I hardly slept. The cherry on top of our stay was that there were two mattresses and two box springs standing in the far corner of the parking lot. Closer inspection revealed bug bed excrement on the tops and bottoms of the items, concentrated in the corners (as bed bugs tend to do). This is no way to discard infested items, leaving them unwrapped. Thank you, America's Best Value Inn at Highland NY, for a quick shower in your cramped shower stall, and for the lousy nap in your uncomfotable, dirty bed. And thank you for making me have to inspect every bag and piece of clothing I brought with me, to make sure no critters hitched a ride with me.

Trip to Staatsburg weddingPosted Jun 23, 2015 on Hotels
It is a modestly priced motel, so it fit my purposes. I experienced no noise or rowdy people, so I slept well. You get what you pay for and I was satisfied with that. The outside was fair, but the inside was good. Everything was clean and the bath area was very good for the price. The bed was comfortable and tidy. For my modest budget and funds, I was very comfortable.

Mixed ReviewPosted Jun 15, 2015 on Hotels
This appears to be a Welfare hotel with some rooms available for overnight stay. It is a very old building with somewhat updated rooms. My non-smoking room reeked from air freshener which was apparently used to cover up the smoke smell. The bed spread had stains on it. Otherwise, the room was comfortable and the a/c was working fine, as did the TV. The bathroom was clean. Bring your own tissues. Desk attendant was friendly and very helpful in getting the Wi-Fi to work. A continental breakfast is provided and the bagels were fresh. I would say the room was reasonable for the price, but I probably would not go back.

What a dump!!Posted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!
Dirty outside, dirty inside, lousy bed, outdated furniture, smelly, desk clerk was a slob -- shall I keep going on? Due to a large event in a nearby town, this was the last room available. And they had the gall to offer us a continental breakfast, which consisted of ONE small cup of coffee and ONE bagel. Since we got home we've been spraying and re-spraying everything we had in the room with Lysol and only hope that we didn't bring any critters home with us. Don't ever stay at this place if you place a high value on cleanliness and value for your dollar. It cost us $128, and it wasn't even worth $28.00!

Very good budget stay!Posted May 26, 2015 on Hotels
Neil, who manages the hotel, was super nice, organized, and responsive. I got to the hotel about 45 minutes after reserving, and he already had a card with my name on it, and everything ready for me. Older hotel, but well kept up. Bathroom was recently renovated and very nice.
