Nothing at the Highlands lodge appeared like the pictures.The outside was not kept and dirty. Had a king room on the lower level. It truly felt like we were in a basement. The hallway lighting was very dim. The room lighting was very dim and dingy. The lampshades were torn and broken, and one light didn't work at all. The furniture and bed were decades old. Cleanliness of the room was poor. Bathroom sink just gave a trickle of water. Sad part of all of this is that this was the second room we were offered. The first room was worse. The hotel listing says there is a free continental breakfast, but when I asked about the breakfast, I was told that "we don't offer that during this season". It was Memorial Day weekend. What season are you waiting for? This hotel is in desperate need of any upgrades. Bottom line is that this hotel is not at all worth the money that you charge. I've been in Super 8's that are far superior to what I experienced at this hotel.

There was not continental breakfast. Just coffee and teas. The TV did not function right and the remote was dead most of the time. Staff did not replace. Room was not cleaned one day. Front desk male staff smelled like weed. I stayed there before several years ago, very poorly maintained. Will not revisit.
