Quiet Private Paradise near HiloPosted May 4, 2017 on Hotels
A delightful BnB (actually 4 buildings with different occupancies) on a Macadamia Nut PLantation. A bit of Hawaiian paradise with private falls into a natural pool for swimming or kayaking (supplied). Great place to stay just outside of Hilo

What an amazing place! After spending several days on the Kona side of the island we decided to spend a couple of days on the tropical, Hilo side and found this wonderful location. The view was breath taking and the service was fantastic.

Breakfast Overlooking a Stunning WaterfallPosted May 2, 2017 on Hotels
The people at the Kulaniapia Falls Inn treat you with kindness and respect from the moment you arrive. It is out in the country but about 20 minutes to the Hilo airport. The beauty surrounding the lodging is breathtaking with great coffee and a breakfast buffet overlooking a stunning waterfall. The trail to the waterfall is accessed only by those lodging at the inn. The room and bath were comfortable and check in and out was smooth. It is about an hour from the volcano. Staying at this inn made the trip to Hilo worthwhile and delightfully memorable.

Quiet, relaxing setting near HiloPosted May 1, 2017
Pros: Quiet, not many people, great breakfast, beautiful setting
Cons: The seating options in the room could be slightly more comfortable.
Location: Easy access to Hilo, not far from Volcano National Park; lots of beaches, museums, outdoor activities
This is a quiet bed and breakfast in an exquisitely beautiful setting near Hilo. It is a bit off the beaten path, which was perfect for us, and provides a quiet night with just the frogs singing for company. The different types of rooms provide space for anywhere from couples to large families. The property literally overlooks the waterfall, which is beautiful. You can hike down to the falls and swim in the pool. The breakfast is delicious and has great choices, including fruit, breads, yogurt, granola, and waffles, and the seating area overlooks the waterfall. A wonderful place to stay very close to Hilo.

Beautiful view of waterfallPosted Apr 26, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: The staff is fantastic, the view is stunning
Location: Very close to downtown Hilo, waterfalls and 45 minutes to hr away from volcano national park and beautiful Puna County.
The establishment is a B&B with stunning view of waterfall and pond. The staff is consistently very cheerful, friendly and generous to lend umbrellas, water shoes, sunscreen etc. to make the stay more pleasant. I asked them every morning about activities and always got whatever time I wanted to plan an interesting daily itinerary with staff that knew the island well and were very pleasant and cheerful to go over details to make the day a fun adventure. Some frills that are common in hotels are absent like TV and refrigerator in the room but I didn't miss them at all.

Great settingPosted Apr 19, 2017
Pros: The room was nicely decorated and the partial view of the waterfall was a real treat. The grounds were peaceful and well maintained.
Cons: The housekeeping of the room was minimal and not timely with requests.
A beautiful setting that makes you feel like you are off the grid.
