Right on the beach but...

Cons: finish the construction and improve maintenance
Great location but a couple of issues. Seems like an older hotel going under some renovations. 1st problem in 1st room after we checked in I found and killed a roach running under the chair. We asked to switch rooms not because of the bug but because of the noise coming from the 2nd floor bar lounge, we were on the 3rd but it overlooked the gift shop and the bar noise reflected right upstairs. The noise from the crowd drowned out the TV in our room. Next night we asked to swap to be on a higher floor or at other end of hotel and ongoing construction at 2nd floor restaurant. 2nd room was quiet but TV did not work 2 maintenance visits later it was "fixed". Of the 36 channels only about 2/3 tuned in real channels, others would double tune. It might say "Bravo" but it played "MSNBC", minor issue but it helps to explain that this hotel needs more work to live up to it's location. If and when they fix these issues, it could be a nice stay but the island was nice with lots of options and we if and when we go back we will look at other options.

Great beachfront location!

Pros: Location!
Cons: More food options. Some nearby shopping would be nice. Everything we wanted to do involved getting in the car and driving.
Location: Great beachfront location, centrally located on Hilton Head Island. Easy access to 278, leading to restaurants and shops elsewhere on the island.
Very nice hotel undergoing renovations, but overall not bothersome. A bit of noise on occasion but didn't negatively affect our stay. Would be nice to have more dining options nearby, walkable offsite. Great to be able to walk to the beach, or view it from the hotel pool. Nicely maintained grounds. Room was nice, quiet and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Very pleasant stay!

I stayed at this property once before about five years ago and had a nice experience then. This trip was even better. It helped that my group of 3 was there at an "off time" ... mid-week in early May... when the resort was not crowded. The staff could not have been more pleasant, and my request for a room on a high floor exceeded my expectation. The facilities and lobby are beautiful and clean. One of the large restaurants is under renovation, but that did not impact us at all. Our room was very clean with a great gulf-front view and balcony. I especially appreciated the quiet hammock areas nearest the beach reserved just for adults. Food was good... not superb, but just fine and as good as I expected. I highly recommend self-parking after leaving your luggage with the bellman. Most people really won't require the valet service here since the parking lot is so close to the hotel entrance. I wish our trip had been a day longer so that we could have made time to rent bikes (available on site). The bike path which runs along the surrounding golf course and lagoons within the Palmetto Dunes development looks very enjoyable.

Great location on beach

Checked in and had room booked for 2 adults and 2 kids. Was given room keys and walked into a room with only a king size bed and no place for my kids to sleep. They fixed that after going back to the front desk again and gave us a room with two queen beds. Room was not the cleanest I have seen. Stained sheets and hair in the bathroom. Overall worth staying there to get great view.

Great hotel on the beach and walk to best courses

Had a wonderful experience with the staff and hotel. All of our wants and needs were taken care of. Only ate at the outside grill which was good. Shout out to Brandon G who took care of anything we needed at the pool.

Nice hotel

Location: good retaurants
Spent 3 nights, overall great experience. Beach steps away.

Spent 2 nights during Heritage golf Tourn weekend. What we didn't expect was the added crowds ( families) vacationing over Easter holiday on the same weekend. We have never seen the beach as crowded on Hilton Head; it looked like Miami beach. If the Tourn falls on the same weekend next year, we will pass, or stay somewhere else. After a long day at the tourn, we retired @ 10:00ish, and were awoken with loud talking on our floor, kids running down the hall and slamming doors @ 11:00 to 11:30pm... At Checkin we paid cash, and were told we had to pay an extra $30.00 deposit for incidentals which we would be refunded at checkout. At Checkout we were told no - after deducting parking fees, resort fees, etc. tacked on- sorry. It left us with a last bad impression...

Ocean view is really partial view

Cons: Better description of rooms.
Booked a room that was Ocean view with a balcony and got a first floor balcony with a view of the trees that completely blocked the Ocean. When I talked to the staff that unless you booked Ocean Front there was no guarantee that you would see the Ocean. I found this very misleading and not worth the price for the Ocean view rooms. I asked to switch to a different room but they were over booked and not an option.

Money went missing

Our first full day there, after returning from the pool, we noticed that someone had gone through our luggage and left zippers open and things a mess. Also money was taken from our bag. It left us feeling violated and not very safe. It completely ruined our trip. We ended up leaving early and it cost an additional $450 with the airline to fly home early.
