Perhaps the most weirdest hotel you may come across. About a 6 minute walk from the station. The lobby is of a bygone era and should have a place in a European village. The lobby sells Hiroshima Carp souvenirs as it is very close the home baseball stadium. Double Room we stayed at on the 5th floor was smaller than the average Japanese hotel room, bathroom was musky and half the floors face the rail tracks so not recommended for light sleepers. No luggage rack was provided in the room, so had to leave luggage on the floor in already tight space. This hotel was chosen as we were travelling around Japan via rail thus location was key. It was the cheapest hotel in the area. Only choose to stay here if in a similar position. Last but not least, check in time is 4 pm whilst check out time is 10am!!! This is quite an extreme range so another reason why I do not recommend this.

Okay experience

Posted Dec 1, 2010
The lobby of the hotel is run down so we wondered what the room would be like. Overall it was fine--we were in the 'new' building. The carpet to the room and in it was slightly marked but otherwise the cleanliness was good. The location next to the railway line was alright for us but might not suit people who are bothered by low-level train noise or who don't like walking away from main streets. The breakfast which was included in the price was adequate but not extensive. We would look for somewhere else to stay if visiting Hiroshima again but would still consider Hiroshima Intelligent Hotel as it was reasonably good value.

You get exactly what you pay for

Cheap and located right by the station and the Hiroshima Carp baseball stadium. It's easy to get a trolley bus/tram to all the main sights in Hiroshima. Basically you get exactly what you pay for, pretty simple accommodation with a bizarre 'theme' that is kind of half regal English hotel, half Vegas brothel if that makes sense! Friendly staff and breakfast included. Don't expect luxury but there is enough to do in Hiroshima that all you need is a clean, safe place to get your head down.
