Very nice hotel, located 10 minutes walk from Hiroshima station and 20mins to the main city tourist area. No issues with English during the day and night. Great twin room, plenty of space. Would stay again.

Hiroshima is a fantastic city. Hotel in great location. Walking distance to peace park and shopping/restaurants and subway station is fantastic.

Great location with views over the river.
Only negative point, the bed mattress was hard. The restaurant dinner was average. There lots of good restaurants within walking distance.

Old but reasonably well-maintained
Hotel is showing its age. Bathroom well maintained, carpet and desk chair not so much. Breakfast is OK but coffee extremely dilute. Shops and restaurants are a few minutes' walk away. Quiet residential area.

Great service and location. There was only one outlet to charge cell phones near the door. The shower faced the wall, making it a bit difficult. Other than that, great place. Will stay there again for the price and location.

Clean hotel walkable from Hiroshima station
This hotel has particularly beautiful views of the river from [some of] its rooms. During sakura season, you also get to see the Sakura trees in bloom close to the river.

A pleasant bog standard hotel. Clean and convenient. Room was on the small site and the hotel restaurant was pretty poor. But it's relatively cheap, perfectly pleasant and very convenient for everything in town.

Nice; but...
Several things go against a five-star rating. Foremost, I had put out the "Do not Disturb" sign. But, each day, the maid would call me on my room phone and ask if she could clean my room! Well... that disturbs me. No points for that one! Secondly, they have a rule that no food or drinks be allowed in the room. What??? I came back late in the evenings and I wanted to eat a snack in my room, but I have to settle for standing around the local convenience shop eating a pastry? No points there either! It does have a small closet space and that is a big plus! But there are only three hangars. I had to go buy them. Also, they have a service for laundry. I had two pairs of: Pants, shirts, briefs and socks laundered. Cost: about $40 US. This is not a dry cleaning; mind you. Simple laundry. NO POINTS FOR THAT! Next: the bed is not comfortable at all. Very hard. My back ached in the morning. Next: the room environmental controls are only in Japanese. I had the hotel clerk come up and explain it to me, just so I could get my room cooled off. No translation available in the room guides. Lastly, they have a rule against entertaining guests in the room that we pay for. Again; I must say: "What???!!!" Overall impression: This is a C+ hotel but they do not know how to provide premium service to guests. If all you want is a place to flop, this is the place for you. If you want a nice hotel experience to go with your Hiroshima adventure, choose another.

Nice hotel in a great location close to the Shinkansen station. It is walking distance to the shopping district, museums and Ground Zero. We stayed only for two days but it was a great experience.

Excellent, high quality hotel. Unfortunately a little far from Transport, but still manageable. Not the most pedestrian friendly when accessing from the Shinkansen station.

JAL city was very conveniently located about 5-10 mins walk from Hiroshima train station. Our room had a great view overlooking the river. The rooms are older and in need of some renovation. The lobby is nice and staff are very friendly. The breakfast was a nice buffet with scrambled eggs, sausage, garlic French fries, and croissants as well as a variety of Japanese food. Its worth the extra per night for the convenience though the station is close by with many other options. Its about 15 min walk to the downtown area and about the same to the atomic dome. Nice overall.

Lovely hotel close to the city.
The hotel was within walking distance of Hiroshima Railway station yet was in a quiet and peaceful area, right beside the river. Reception staff were helpful and it was great to be able to leave our luggage at the hotel when we arrived a few hours earlier than check in. The room was great - clean, had everything we needed and had a lovely view over the river towards the city.

Great hotel to base your Hiroshima experience
Great location a few minutes bag drag from the station. Bit further from downtown Hiroshima but wandering the back streets of Japanese cities is part of the fun. Staff were great and the room spot on. Anything under 17m2 doesn't work for us. Ebikes were the best, some great times finding the shopping mall in Fuchu and riding back "home" in the dark via the peace park for sensational views of the A bomb dome. Shame the mazda museum was booked out - better planning next time.

I chose this hotel for its nearness to Shukkeien, hoping to make it there even though we didn't really have time in our itinerary. I was rewarded when we walked past while they were closed and found they had extended hours for cherry blossom viewing.

Further away, but economical
Had to walk 10 mins, but the weather was good, thus a pleasant walk. Will be troublesome if it rains. Other than that, it's a cosy, clean and well serviced hotel. I would stay there again

Hotel is easy to get to from Hiroshima station ( 10 minute walk ) . Good location , everything is easy to get to from this place . Great shopping food and sights in Hiroshima ! ( and Hiroshima is a baseball town too ,stadium isn't far away ! ) About my room , it was big as Japan goes, great river view . Mattress could use an updating though . Staff is helpful and some english spoken at front desk .

Nice hotel and close to Hiroshima train stop
I like the fact that the hotel is very close to the train station and the middle of almost everything. The staff were very friendly and helped me out a lot. Definitely recommend for anyone

Reasonable base hotel
Clean and nice staff. Allows smoking in the lobby, which is most of the negative. We did not smell smoke in our non-smoking room. Bed somewhat hard, typically Japanese. About 10 minutes walk from the train station and right next to the river. Next to one of the gardens.

Descent Hotel, Great Staff
Hotel was further away from JR rail station (10+ minute walk/long with luggage) and Peace Park/Hiroshima Memorial (take a cab or bus/40 minute walk). Rooms were small - typical Japan. Bed was rock hard - I had to go to front desk in the middle of the night to get blankets to put underneath me. But for our 2nd night stay, the staff brought me 4 very thick blankets so bed was comfortable. Staff was extremely polite and very accommodating. Good price for hotel - just plan on taking city bus or cab for most places you want to go. Side trip to Miyajima shrine not to be missed! JR takes you right there.
