Great place to stay in Padua

Posted Oct 10, 2017 on Hotels
Lovely hotel with character, right in the center of old Padua and steps away from the University and the Basilica of St. Anthony. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. Great breakfast too! Highly recommend this hotel which was very reasonably priced.

Nice small hotel

Posted Oct 7, 2017
From the outside the hotel does not look promising, but the room made up for it. Surprisingly large, good shower, comfortable bed - what more could you ask. The hotel is no more than 10 minutes from the historic centre and about 25 mins easy walk from the station. The staff do not speak much English, but it didn't cause any problems. Would almost certainly try to stay here again if returning to Padova

Very simple clean room in an excellent location

Posted Sep 27, 2017
The price is good and the location is great. There were 3 separate doors to open in order to reach our room. Not a big thing, but gets to be annoying after a few times.

Center of Padova

Posted Sep 27, 2017
Pros: staff very nice and accommodating the location was excellent once you find it
Cons: hotel needs to be renovated from Rick Steve's visit
Location: so many things to mention such as Scrivengo Chapel, Piazza di Signori, taking the train to Verona and Vicenza, convenience of the tram system.
Hotel Al Santo located in the center of Padova. A good location for exploring the city but quite difficult to find by car. Once you finally arrive by car, it is necessary to park your car at a location some distance from the hotel and then return on foot to a hotel in a city that we were not familiar with. Can be a bit challenging! The staff are very nice and hospitable but our room was quite small and did not offer much of a view. We hoped that with a three night stay we might be offered a better view of the city. Staff were very accommodating and helpful particularly Matteo. Breakfast was ok but compared poorly to our hotels in Ascoli Piceno, Ravenna, Florence, Urbino and San Quirico where we also stayed. The hotel probably could benefit from a good renovation project.

Friendly, convenient Padua hotel

Posted Sep 21, 2017 on Hotels
This is a comfortable and very convenient hotel within easy walking distance to many attractions, especially in the basilica area, and within a half-hour walk (or 3-minute tram ride) of the world-famous Scrovegni Chapel that has brilliant frescoes by Giotto (advance reservations required, easily done online via Vivaticket).

Modern hotel close to Basilica & Prato del Valle

Posted Sep 3, 2017 on Orbitz
Cons: this is a minor concern, but it would have been helpful if the nightshift person could speak/ understand a little English.
Location: Pago Pago, Enoteca de Severino, Soul Kitchen Hamburgeria, Pizzeria al Borgo are all great places to eat or drink steps from the hotel.
I had a good overall experience at Hotel Al Santo. The location, staff, room, and amenities are all excellent. The hotel is walking distance to all the historically important sights in Padova and the rest are just a short tram or bus ride away. The halls are nicely decorated with fun, modern art and cool light fixtures; and the AC in the room is very strong making it a nice respite from the summer heat.

Be sure to visit Padova-1/2 hour bus from Venice

Posted Aug 20, 2017 on Hotels
Highlights were the Botanical garden (oldest University garden in the world) , the medical museum, the Giotto frescoes. So much to see in Padua. Tram through the center and Padova card make it easy( buy at train station on arrival and book Giotto- same day evening visit to chapel.

Quaint, but GREAT Service

Posted Jul 10, 2017
The staff is excellent- so helpful and friendly. Fresh breakfast daily and an easy walk to the historic district (and pretty much all of the best tourist sites). Our hotel had a perfect view of the basilica. We had a great stay- and the on-site restaurant is delicious as well.

Great central location.

Posted May 22, 2017
Pros: It's central location.
Cons: Beds and pillows a bit hard, but not unusual for Italy...
Location: St. Anthony's was amazing. We loved the University of Gallelio and Copernicus's founded in 1222! Made me weep.
Loved the location of this hotel, near most of the sights in Padua. Located between St. Anthony's and the University. Staff was friendly and provided good service. Had a surprise Ferrari rally go right down our street as we ate dinner next door on the sidewalk. What a thrill! The room was clean.
