Great Hotel, Especially For The Price

Posted Sep 7, 2017
Pros: Super friendly and accommodating staff, above average breakfast, clean rooms, freshly renovated hotel.
Cons: The pillows weren't great, and the AC didn't work that well.
Location: About a 30 minute walk to downtown Charleston, really close to the interstate and the hospital.
I'm glad I chose this hotel in Charleston, and I would stay here again. We stayed here on a tourist trip. It's in a decent location, about 1 mile from downtown Charleston. It was clean, comfortable, and the parking was not an issue. I was a little skeptical from the reviews I read. Once we arrived though, our skepticism was relieved and we really enjoyed our stay. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, the price was very competitive compared to other hotels in the area.

You get what you pay for

Posted Sep 5, 2017
This hotel was perfect for what we wanted: a clean place to stay in Charleston that wasn't $300+ a night (which were the rates of other hotels we looked at for Labor Day weekend). Pros: The staff helped me check in early, the room was clean and air conditioned, it was a 15-20 minute walk to King Street Cons: The place can do with some serious updating, the hallway had a bit of a strange smell, and when we asked for towels we were given washcloths, then told we'd get the towels in 15-20 minutes as they were in the dryer. They never arrived (at that point we needed to make a dinner reservation so we just dried off with the washcloths). Please note that this hotel is NOT located directly in the heart of downtown Charleston. It is about 20 minutes to walk there, longer down to the Battery or Market Street. A free tram does run twice an hour but it doesn't drop you off in the heart of downtown, so you still need to walk. The walk is fine; we barely took Ubers unless we were in a rush or very tired.

Great hotel for the price

Posted Aug 21, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff and they have a nice breakfast. Clean and good for the price.
Cons: Beds were not too comfortable.
Location: Pretty great location close to historical Charleston!
The hotel was reasonably priced and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was not far from historical Charleston. We walked about a mile to dinner off of King street.

Great Staff, Good value for the money

Posted Aug 19, 2017
The hotel seems to be in an area that could be up and coming based on the construction that was taking place, however, some areas close by looked a little questionable. The hotel itself was great for the value. The A/C in the halls seemed to not be working. It felt very humid. The room was nice but not very cool even with the unit on as low as it would go. This could be normal for a hotel in Charleston due to the heat and humidity outside. The location is near everything downtown but still requires a short drive. Next time we go, we would probably stay at Isle of Palms and make the drive to downtown instead of the other way around. Not bad overall
