Close to the Action, Without the Noise

Posted Aug 18, 2017
Pros: location and staff
Cons: Not much
Location: you can walk to everything, everything.
This is a well done retrofit on a former motel style facility. It has ample parking, a real plus in Charleston, suitable pool and bar areas and importantly is close to the action without being stuck in the heavy tourist areas. The rooms and bedding were good, but not spectacular. The staff was really good, polite, attentive and they keep the asset clean and organized. Well worth the stay and a place to consider at any price point.

The pool is a must in the summer!

Posted Aug 17, 2017
Couldn't have asked for a better location and set up for a long weekend in Charleston with my girlfriends. The room was spacious and clean, the pool was our savig grace each afternoon for a little R&R. The staff, across the board, were helpful, polite, and genuine.

Gross

Posted Aug 6, 2017
We had a terrible experience at this hotel. Our room was really dirty : The room wasn't vacuumed thoroughly, there was a rotten ice cream left in the fridge, the shower handles were kind of greasy and on top of that, the beds were extremely dirty and disgusting. One bed was full of hair, there were stains of an unidentifieable fluid and some more hair on the mattress. After we complained we were assigned a different room- but this room was nearly in the same state as the previous one. Lots of hair on the bed and mattress plus a rotten salad in the fridge. We decided to leave after one night and went back home. Out stay in Charleston was completely spoiled. At least the hotel refunded us the room charge and waived the cancellation fee. We can't recommend this hotel at all. This hotel is overpriced and overrated in our opinion. On a side note: the rooms are tiny and the location isn't that great. They are noisy streets next to the rooms and we could see our neighbors from the room window and wave hello.

Great location. Free parking.

Great location very close to city market and easy walk to aquarium, cofc campus and historic homes south of broad. Room was very nice. Some typical amenities were missing: no free breakfast, no afternoon wine and cheese. Overall very nice.

Comfortable, Convenient Stay In Charleston, SC

Posted Jul 25, 2017
Pros: This hotel's superb staff... I mean REALLY SUPERB, the location and the well kept, beautifully appointed rooms are unrivaled.
Cons: I honestly can't imagine any improvements, except that the free WiFi was just a little slow. However, that could have been due to traffic or location.
Location: There are too many things to do that are in the immediate vicinity to write about. Find out more about Charleston, and know you are close to it!
The King Charles Inn is located on Meeting Street, making it a cinch to get to from I-26. The historic building has registration parking within just a few steps to the Courteous and Knowledgeable Front Desk staff. Check in is a breeze and you'll then be able to park on the property (no extra charge). The rooms are clean and well appointed. The style reflects the historical side of the Inn, but only in the best ways. We found the lighting excellent, our view perfect and the beds comfortable. There is an on site pool, and cafe, but business prevented my taking advantage of either, I was able, however, to walk to one of Charleston's two most popular restaurants. There is even a real, honest to Brooklyn Deli just a few steps away! Oye, such a deal! The historic area and French Quarter is within walking distance, and if you're in town for the superb health care facilities, The Medical University of South Carolina's campus is a very short ride. MUSC, by the way, provides some of the best advanced medical services on the East Coast, rivaling Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, and the Mayo Clinic.

Walking distance to everything!

Posted Jul 18, 2017
Walking to restaurants, bars, shops, tours, market, and historic district was easy from the hotel. The hotel has great staff, quaint bar, and great free parking! The only downside was we couldn't get out A/C in the room to cool the room below 74 degrees and when it's Hot outside you want to be cool inside! Other than that it was a wonderful stay and I highly recommend!

Great Hotel, close to everything.

Posted Jul 16, 2017
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing we can think of.
Location: The City Market, King Street, Waterfront Park and the Battery are all with walking distance. The beaches are all a short drive away.
We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel was well appointed, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff could not have been any more helpful or friendly. There is a small restaurant which serves breakfast which was nice. They also offer free parking which is a big plus in that area. They also have a small pool. The location is idea as it is close to King Street and the City Market. The beaches are all within 30 minutes by car. I would highly recommend this hotel.
