Staff is very friendly. Enjoyed the complimentary champagne after checking in. Ice service in room was appreciated.

Pros: Comfortable residence in a central location
Location: See above
Great central location in the heart of historic Charleston. Well staffed, impeccably maintained. All in all I found nothing lacking.

Not what it used to be

Posted Dec 24, 2017
The Mills House used to be one of the premier places to stay in Charleston. No longer. First, valet looked asleep at his post, then despite the claim of a 24 hour valet, when we returned at 11 pm, no valet. So you pay $34 for valet and then another $20 for the parking garage behind the hotel. Check in was odd— employees complained about working. No directions to room, no explanations of hotel services. Then there’s the noise. Our room was near an elevator so it sounded like grand central station. Plus there were about 8 20-something’s just hanging out in the hall! Turns out, you can access the 2nd floor hallway from the outside and even at 11 pm, there’s no key card needed!!! So no security. Beds are tiny! Barely a full sold as a queen. The tub also did not drain well. No fridge either. And another odd thing...about a half hour after check in, a maid was banging on the door. She had brought us ice and waters that we didn’t ask for but she was quite rude about it. Not worth the money and will never stay here again.

Beautiful building but noisy events in hotel

Posted Dec 21, 2017
Pros: Beds were comfortable and lobby is beautiful. Convenient location.
Cons: City noise is to be expected, but loud parties taking over the lobby with drunk people and blasting music ruined the experience for us.
Location: Great location in heart of historic Charleston.
Beautiful room with comfortable beds. First night very loud party ( disco lights and thumping music) in event building asjacent to hotel. The items in the room were shaking. Second night ( Sunday) returned to hotel to find restaurant and bar rented out to private party. Blasting rap music and drunk people all over lobby. Again could hear in room ( third floor). Not relaxing and not in keeping with the th the upscale ambiance this hotel promotes. Despite a great location and beautiful building I would not recommend to friends based on the noise generated by hotel sanctioned events.

Nice hotel in the heart of Charleston

Nice Hotel. Very pleasant and helpful staff. It was also a great location. Close to so many attractions. We took in a show at the Dock Street theater, that was only a block away.

Stayed there in early December. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Loved everything about the hotel with the exception that when we arrived, the Queen street parking garage entrance was blocked by a cone stating enter via Meeting street. The Meeting street was blocked by a rental delivery truck at 10:00. Would have been a little better experience if the hotel would think ahead and unblock the entry points when delivery trucks arrive. Other than that we loved the experience.

A Place to A kid in Charleston SC

High end property with nice location, excellent public areas, good desk staff. Room very tight and very tired with pricing way out of line for value received. Food at premium prices consistently served lukewarm and piecemeal. Not appropriate to the Wyndham name...much preferred the lower end Wingaye by Wyndham prior night at half the price. Not recommended.
