Right on river, great views

Posted Jul 30, 2016
Pros: Close to restaurants, downtown, shopping, the pier, and a great midpoint for short day trips to the islands and the beaches.
Cons: The 'continental breakfast' could be improved. Fruit cups, yogurt and muffins are not great choices for diet watchers. Had better at cheaper hotels.
Location: Some great museums, wonderful beaches, lots of little shops to visit and shop, great places for oysters on the half shell.
Check in was quick and simple; the ladies at the front desk were very helpful. Room had a great screened in patio where you could sit and enjoy a great view of the Apalachicola River. Only one of the bedside lamps worked. Their 'Continental breakfast' left a lot to be desired. Fruit cups, muffins and yogurt are left in the room. If you need more protein or are watching your diet you'll need to find different accommodations or pick up something at the grocery store the night before. The parking for the hotel is across the little street.

don't stay here

Posted Jul 19, 2016
Location: We were not aware that there is no beach there and that we would have to drive 10-15 minutes to get to the beach.
The room was dirty. We were overrun by ants the entire time. The staff, though nice, were useless. There was zero consistency in the room service we received. One day, the beds were made, the next, they weren't. The floor wasn't cleaned unless I requested it. And they consistently left only one or two towels when they were 5 of us. They do not have continental breakfast as advertised... they leave fruit cups, yogurt and packaged muffins in your refrigerator. They do not have a jacuzzi or spa The good things about the experience are the size of the rooms and the fact that the balcony was screened in.

Hotel was great. Housekeeping could use improvement. We spent a lot of time on the screened balcony overlooking the river.

Serenity

We had a great time. With nearby locales like St George, Cape San Blas and St Joes there was plenty to do. The food was superb, and relatively inexpensive. Our view from the screened in porch was fantastic.

Great for seafood.

Nice and laid back atmosphere. People in town were all very friendly. Not a whole lot to do at the time we were there, but would definitely go back for seafood! The Owl Cafe is fine dining and it was wonderful.
