Great Stay, highly recommended

Posted Jan 17, 2018
Pros: Location, charm, hospitality
Cons: Need to refurbish the tub, add a vanity in the bathroom and include night stands on both sides of the bed.
Location: Centrally located in the beautiful Savannah historic district and easily in walking distance to restaurants, public transportation, and shopping.
Wonderful experience highlighted by helpful staff, nice amenities, and a great location. Loved the Southern style breakfast, the wine & cheese reception plus the delicious desserts in the evening. The room was small, but cozy and could probably use some upgrades, but no show stoppers. Nice job.

Parlour hospitality

Posted Dec 31, 2017
Pros: Hospitality was excellent
Cons: The bathroom/plumbing
Location: A 15 minute walk takes you down to the Savannah River through the historic squares for which Savannah is best known.
The best thing about Eliza Thompson House (apart from a very good location in the historic part of Savannah) was the generous, complimentary wine and cheese session in the parlour early every evening. Sometimes there was a hot dish as well, but it was the chance to swap experiences with other residents that made it. Then at 8.00pm out came the desserts, perhaps 2 or 3 home made cakes. Everything was choreographed by the excellent Kelly. Don't expect international hotel standards, this is very old house and we struggled with a tiny bathroom and antiquated plumbing. Breakfasting out in the courtyard in the run up to Christmas Day was lovely for Brits. This is a no-children establishment although the family owners have other houses in the city that welcome children, and also pets.

One of the BEST in Savannah

Posted Dec 22, 2017
Pros: Location, Ambiance
As bed and breakfast owners ourselves, we very rarely stay at other B&B's. But I wanted to do something special for my wife's birthday and I knew she Loved Savannah. After reading their reviews I booked the Eliza Thompson house. Also the inn is probably in the BEST location in Savannah. Dead Center of the historic district. Your like 2 blocks from the main park and one block from the Williams / Mercer house. Upon entering we were greeted by our lovey concierge Kelly, who checked us in and introduced is to our bell concierge. I had picked a room with a king bed right in fountain courtyard, which looks like something out of a fairy tale and the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil at the same time - JUST FANTASTIC. Our bell concierge picked up all our luggage and proceed to show us around. The inn has some VERY unique side and room street entrances (Savannah Style Gates) and our room was off the street through one of those gates, which follows a narrow hall to the opening of a beautiful fountain Garden/ sitting and dining area (dining weather permitting). Using the Gate entrance makes you feel like your back in the 18th century very cool is all we can say. The room was nice and clean, and was tastily decorated in 1840's period furniture. The king bed and the gurgling of the fountain made for restful nights. Wine and Hors D'oeuvre happy hour between 5:30 and 7:30 make for a nice get together with other guests.

Wonderful B&B.

Posted Dec 22, 2017
Pros: Everyday anyone staying at the B&B is invited to have wine & cheese at 5:00 pm. At 8:00 pm they serve desserts and coffee. Breakfast were wonderful.
Cons: The only thing that would make our stay any better is if they would update the rooms & bathrooms a little. Other than that it was a perfect weekend.
Location: Beautiful location. Great restaurants, parks, trolley rides and vintage homes to see and much, much more.
Wonderful experience. Staff is top notch and getting to know all the people that were staying at the B&B was delightful. We are definitely going to go back in the Spring.

Lovely B&B in Historic District, great breakfast!

Posted Dec 18, 2017
Pros: Every single one on staff was gracious and helpful. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
Cons: The Heater unit in the room was quite noisy.
Location: Savannah's historic district is romantic, fun to walk around to go to many historic homes and museums. Good comfort food is widely available and fun.
Staff were ever-so-nice and B&B is run very well. Breakfast was off-the-charts excellent, something for everyone! Eliza Thompson House is located on a quiet street near all attractions. Pleasant company of other quests in the evening for appetizers and wine. Rooms are very clean and well-equipped.
