Quick savannah visit

Posted Oct 15, 2017
Hotel within walking distance of anything in historic district. Great location. Every staff member we encountered focused on making our experience with them a positive one. Evening happy hour with small plate offerings was a really nice touch. Breakfast excellent the day we were there. Would definitely recommend

Service and friendliness are tops!

Posted Oct 11, 2017
Pros: Location, staff, decor, cocktails and dessert
Cons: A coffee maker in the room, internet connection
Location: Bonaventure Cemetery is about 15 minutes by car, river front 20 minutes walking, Forsythe Park is about 5 minutes walking.
First, I want to mention Lynette who made sure to clear my plates and refill my coffee every morning, all with a big smile; Kelly, the Concierge who arranged dinner, tours and made sure our lost luggage was delivered to us; and Dale, another Concierge who made sure we had wine for a concert in Forsythe Park. Everyone at this hotel worked hard to make sure I felt like we were the only guest they had and anything, and I mean anything was possible. The hotel is located in the heart of the historic district so there is no need to rent a car. Take the bus ($5 pp) from the airport to MLK and Louisville Rd and then its only 4/10 of a walk to the hotel or take Uber (roughly $20) and forget worrying about parking because its very hard to find. Everything is within a less than 20 minute walk and even if you walk, the town is gorgeous. There is a Dot bus that loops around the city as well and its free so if you have difficulty walking, this is a great and easy option. The only thing we did that was not walkable was Bonaventure Cemetery but its only about 15 minutes by Uber. Make sure you make it back for the homemade snacks at 5:30 - 7 and homemade desserts at 7:30 - 9. There is no coffee maker in the room but we could walk up into the main house and use the keurig. Internet was a little bit sketchy but once we figured out the trick, it wasn't bad. Otherwise, an amazing place to stay.

A wonderful stay!

Pros: We loved the hospitality of all members of the staff and the fact that it was in the historic district of Savannah. Lovely!
Cons: Nothing that I can think of at this time can be improved.
Location: If you love to walk, go to the historic district of Savannah. Lots to do and see.
We stayed at the Eliza Thompson to celebrate my husband's birthday. It's located in the historic district of lovely Savannah. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, we experienced true southern hospitality. The delicious breakfasts were served out in the garden courtyard every morning. In the late afternoon, the guests are served complimentary wine and lovely snacks in the parlor prepared by the chef. At night, coffee and desserts are available to the guests as well. This historic home now converted to an inn, has been lovingly restored to its original grandeur. We'd love to return someday.

Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Savannah

Every aspect of our stay was superlative. Room was beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable. Full breakfast each morning served in the courtyard was delicious, as were the afternoon snacks with wine. And the evening desserts! Location very convenient to all the sights and activities of the historic district. I would highly recommend the Eliza Thompson House to anyone traveling to Savannah

The staff was very helpful. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants and places of interest. Our room was on the second floor and very quiet and we enjoyed a fabulous breakfast in the garden terrace. We will definitely return to the Eliza Thompson Inn !!!
