Historic area and comfortable stay!

Posted Sep 19, 2017
Pros: The hotel sported the history of the building, while maintaining modern conveniences.
Cons: Be upfront with the additional charges, such as vehicle parking.
Location: Loved the downtown nightlife and waterfront.
The hotel is nicely located in a historic and beautiful area of Savannah and the waterfront. We remarked at how the hotel felt like we were staying at the historic mansion in Asheville. The hotel is right in the middle of the excitement of the waterfront area of Savannah and walking distance to downtown life.

Waterfront hotel, full of character

Posted Sep 13, 2017
Pros: Its antiquity, character and location.
Cons: It can be pricey.
Location: Walk along front street, go to the parks, take the river boat tour, Queen of Georgia.
I don't think we could have picked a more beautiful hotel--the River Street Inn is right downtown, on a cobblestone parkway/roadside. You can enjoy tapas and wine (for free, from 5-6:30) on a patio overlooking the river. The hotel's atrium and lounge are gorgeous and full of character. It is a stunning building. There is city parking for $3 across the street, if you don't feel like paying $27 per night to have the hotel valet park for you. The city parking is often full, but it clears out later in the day (we never had a problem parking after 5 PM and sometimes the full sign stays on, even if there are cars leaving).

Great Location with nice accomodations

Posted Sep 12, 2017
Pros: Location is great - right on the river.
Cons: Bathrooms could use a little updating. Humidity was a bit uncomfortable in the room.
Location: Walking Tours and Trolley Tours are nearby along with restaurants, bars, shops, riverboat.
This is a great hotel if you are looking for something other than the standard chain hotel. Location is excellent and you can feel the history of the city within the walls of the hotel. Bath fixtures are a bit dated, though. This kind of puts it in a weird state between the warm, historic, southern room and this odd '80s inspired gold-fixture laden bathroom. In addition to the bathroom, the humidity was a bit of an issue. It is Savannah, so I understand somewhat, but the HVAC is pretty old, also, and couldn't seem to pull the moisture out of the room - it made sleeping a bit uncomfortable.

Excellent, despite Irma's best efforts

Posted Sep 11, 2017
If you are going to Savannah for the history, character and charm then this is your place. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the character of old Savannah well presrved. The River Street Inn is perfectly placed in the historic district to experience the best of everything within walking distance. The river, restaurants, shops, tours and parks are out the door. The staff always had a smile on there faces and provided a warm welcome. The only downside for us, hurricane Irma shortened our stay. Despite Irma's efforts, the River Street Inn staff was calm and accommodating in assisting with all our needs. Cannot recommend more highly and will definitely return!!

Excellent view

Walking distance to everything and beautiful view of the river and streetside/activity area. Only negative experiences is the event area plays loud live music up til midnight making it difficult to sleep if you go to bed earlier and the bed is not very comfortable.

Thank you for staying with us Walker. We appreciate your feedback. The city noise curfew is 10 PM weekdays and 11 PM on weekends so they should have turned the music off by then. We will look into whether the curfew was violated. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Beautiful Vintage Hotel

Posted Sep 8, 2017
Pros: The location was great, in walking distance to shops, bars, and restaurants
Hotel is well located in the Historic District. No need to worry about driving around to the different location while staying at this hotel. Once I checked in I valet the car and began to tour the city on foot which was great because everything is in walking distance. The location was my major factor for choosing the hotel. Plus its beautiful historic looking, very clean and well maintained, room are nice and spacious. AAA+++
