Botched check-in

Pros: My boys liked the pool.
Cons: Know what rooms are occupied. Don't give out keys to rooms that are occupied.
We arrived and were given a hotel room. When my family and I went up to the room, we found someone's clothes and shoes scattered around the room. So, we went back down to the front desk and described what we saw. The clerk was surprised and assigned us another room. We went up again, and, AGAIN, we found clothes, etc. strewn across the room. Back down at the front desk, we described what we found (AGAIN), and got a third room assigned. The clerk went upstairs with me to check the room which was (finally) a vacant room. We then spent the rest of the weekend wondering if the hotel had squatters or a buggy room assignment system which would allow some stranger into our room. When I asked the daytime clerk about the situation, it was news to her. She checked the system and found supporting evidence for my tale. She apologized for our inconvenience and offered to try to make it up to us. However, what was promised did not happen. I will be avoiding this hotel in the future. I will be avoiding the Holiday Inn chain for a while. They screwed up when we got there and trying to make it up to us.

Poor nights' sleep

This was one of the worst hotel stays I've ever experienced. The hotel itself was in decent condition, nothing really stood out except for the remodeling it was going through at the time. I stayed on the third floor where a lot of the remodeling was taking place (other end of the hall). The first night I was awoken by two people yelling at each other in a nearby room; this started at 5:00 am and went on until 6:30 am off and on; I should have called the front desk but decided against it that night. The next night I woke up at 1:00 am to the sound of hammering nearby (sounded like 1-2 rooms down). I called the front desk and they said they would check on it in 5 minutes; this noise continued for a while and then was replaced with a low buzzing sound which I was able to drown out with the room's A/C unit. Overall two of the worst nights of sleep I've gotten in a hotel. The rest of the experience was mediocre, nothing special about the hotel and at least nothing negative that really stands out (just be careful with the sink, turn the faucet on much and it shoots right out of the basin onto you). If I ever visit Chattanooga again I'll be staying somewhere else.

Dark hair girl at desk was rude/ant problem

We arrived at the hotel around noon after driving 6 hours from West Virginia. We didn't realize that check in was at 2 and we had a wedding to attend at 4. We requested an early check in and the girl at the front desk told me that the rooms were not clean yet which I understood so she took our number and said she would call if anything would come available. Well we decided to sit in their lobby and wait. They never did call. We checked in at 2. They should have just told us we couldn't check in til 2 rather than leading us to believe they would call us. Also, the same girl at the desk gave me a hard time and acted like it was an inconvenience to adjust our room rate to honor my brothers military discount. (We originally booked through hotels.com which did not give us the discount so we called them and they told us the people in the hotel can adjust it before billing them) --- When we first checked in our room appeared clean and comfortable. After we left and came back the area by the trash can was swarmed with ants where we threw away a drink cup. Needless to say we will not be staying here again.

Excellent stay

They staff was the best I have seen at any hotel I have stayed at. Everyone was very friendly and always helpful. I would have given 5 stars, but the elevator was quite rough, they were several large water stains on the ceiling and the toilet wobbled. All small things though that did not effect our stay. The hotel is an excellent option of you don't want to pay the prices for a hotel downtown.

Weekend family trip

The hotel was nice and my step daughter really loved the bed and the heated pool. It was a nice place to stay close to Chattanooga for what we wanted to do on a first family trip.
