"Nice hotel in a good location"
Just stayed at this hotel in October 2014. It was very nice -- typical of what you'd expect back home. Very comfortable and clean. Nice pool on the top floor, that provides panoramic view of Saigon. Spa is also up there, though I did not try it out. Two restaurants on site (one café and one Chinese food). Good breakfast buffet in the morning -- a mix of American, European and Asian offerings (e.g., made to order eggs, bacon, breakfast/lunch meets and cheeses, noodles, pho). Central location within walking distance (a hot, humid walk) to Presidential Palace, Opera House, Notre Dame church, Post Office, Thanh market, lotus building with the observation deck on 44th floor). Also, a Buffalo Tours office in the lobby -- very helpful with setting up day trips (e.g., to Cu Chi tunnels, Mekong, group or private city tours, etc.). NOTE: when Expedia says "free highspeed internet" with some bookings, the hotel interprets that as free internet in the LOBBY but not in your ROOM. They charged my parents for the room internet, but not me (but removed the charge from my parents bill when we pointed out the Expedia confirmation of free internet). No big deal. There is free internet to all guests in the lobby, so if your use is casual, you can get by with that.
