Good central location

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: The motel was more than adequate for our needs, mainly somewhere to sleep between our day trips around Tassie.
Cons: If you're looking for the Hilton you're in a different wage bracket to us & won't come across this in your search for accommodation.
Location: Location was good. No traffic noises. Only about 10 min from the centre of Hobart.
The motel was more than adequate for our needs, mainly somewhere to sleep between our day trips around Tassie. The rooms were neat & tidy with all we needed. We were even lucky enough to be upgraded. Staff were all friendly & tourist info was on hand & a "cook your own" kitchen facility. Would definitely stay again.

Loved it

Posted Aug 26, 2016
It's an amazing place to live in. Love the location and it is situated at close to most of the place that I wanted to go. Situated on a quiet street and you have an amazing view of Mount Wellington on one side and the river on the other side. I would recommend people to live there as I had a wonderful experience in that place.its is affordable and the best part is the toilets are clean and this lodge believe in environmental products

Frequent Guest

Posted Aug 11, 2016
Pros: Darren at reception is very friendly and helpful.
Location: Location of this property was excellent for my purposes.
I have been a frequent guest over the last 2 years and I have stayed in most of the rooms in the main building on the top level, ie standard room or room with a view(room 1). Most rooms are comfortable, there is one room that I will not stay in because I don't find the bed comfortable, room 14. Room 1 is a large room with 2 walls of windows overlooking the water. In winter it is a cold room and the oil heater is not able to heat the room unless the heater is left on all of the time. I would suggest that a proper TV antenna connection in Room 1would be really good as it currently has an old pair of rabbit ears which is on top of kitchen shelves and it gets moved by housekeeping which then requires me to stand on a chair to try and fix the TV reception. TV reception in this room is affected by the opening and closing of the door to the balcony and the movement of the metal furniture on the balcony that is used by the smokers. Overall this property is showing its age and it could do with some renovations including upgrading the windows so all of them can be opened and then closed easily and they can be partially opened and stay open when there is a wind.

Value & Comfort

Posted Jul 16, 2016
Linens were clean and there was bed heating as well as a separate heater to keep you warm during the winter. Checking in & out was smooth and speedy. Just a short drive to city centre & overall a great value for the price I paid.

Would recommend

Nice location 5km or so from the CBD. Clean and comfortable room, helpful staff and a very reasonable price. Unless you're looking for 5 star luxury, I would definitely recommend that you give this place a go.

Stayed overnight as had a day-trip to MONA. Arrived late and the service at reception was very helpful. Room was exactly what I needed, comfortable double bed, bathroom with all soaps and lotions included, and a television. Only downside was that the heater did not heat the room as well as it could have, was a little cold.

Very cheap and you get what you pay for

Posted Jun 14, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: The front staff members were nice. The price was cheap too.
Cons: Mattress and a chain lock on the door.
Location: Few minutes drive from CBD.
It is a very cheap accomodation and the staff members were lovely. The linen seemed to be updated, but the mattress must have been very old, the spring was gone. The free wifi was fantastic, but there were lots of disappointing elements. For instance, even though the room door can be accessed easily from outside, the chain lock wasn't attached to the door. I didn't realise that the motel was in a rather rough area of Hobart until I turned up there, so I was a little scared at night. The bathroom was clean enough, but not nice. I could hear people upstairs talking, it was just an uncomfortable night. I booked this room at the very last minute because of the price, but I had wished that I spent extra $20-30 to make myself comfortable for the night. I guess you get what you pay for - it was okay, but I won't stay here again.

Hi we are not allowed to have chain locks on doors ohs policy not sure what room you stayed in as we can rectify the mattress problem as most mattresses have been place, the area is safe and it is a fast developing area with middle class neighbors, Thank you for your feed back happy travelling

Good for an overnight stay.

Posted Jun 5, 2016
Pros: Price was very competitive.
Cons: The addition of a cafe or even a vending machine.
Location: Very little nearby unless you have a car. The location is beautiful right on the banks of the Derwent River.
Very basic but you get what you pay for. Electric blanket didn't work and no where to eat close by. If you are staying for more than a night you will need a car as there is nothing around the area. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
