Traveling through

Posted Mar 9, 2017
Pros: Very nice staff. First room had a broken toilet seat and they moved us right away to another better room. Breakfast had 3 hot items to the usual.
Perfect hotel for traveling through the area. Easy drive to Carlsbad (not convenient for driving to and from though)

Overall A Nice Hotel That I Would Recommend

Posted Feb 13, 2017
Pros: The lady who was working the checking desk when we arrived was very friendly and VERY accommodating with filling a need that we discovered.
Cons: The breakfast could benefit from the addition of some form of meat - protein. Only ate hotel breakfast 1 of 2 days. 2nd day went to IHOP nearby.
Location: Well, it's Hobbs, NM... So as far as things to do, really there is not anything special or unique.
Overall, a very nice experience in this hotel! Very clean and fresh! I would certainly recommend others stay here when visiting Hobbs. Two peculiarities about this property that should be noted of - a) due to limited walking ability of somebody in out party, we requested a room close to door on ground level, or elevator on second floor. With this in mind, hotel clerk graciously booked us into a handicapped accessible room. The strange part about this deals with hotel design / layout itself, and that the handicapped accessible room (135) was quite a ways away from the front lobby area. When walking between the two, passed many standard rooms (or no indication of accessible room on any signage). The room was closer to an exit door (which also doubles as an alternative entry - but stairway anteroom one had to pass through between outside and hotel hallway had a very particular odor.) than lobby, but it was still a little bit of a walk. The second oddity with the room, was that the two queen beds in room we thick in themselves and then placed on top of thick boxsprings (worked in mattress manufacturing, so I know my beds), then put these on top of a frame, it made for a very high surface that one needed to get on top of to use the bed. While fine for an able bodied person, it seemed very dd to have this configuration for an accessible room. Front desk attendant very accommodating in getting a solution, which was load a small stepladder/stool from housekeeping.

It was a great place to stay and we will be back. The only issue was the floor in our room was very sticky.

Great stay for a good price

Posted Oct 31, 2016
Don't know if this is the norm, but when I booked it was only 17 cents more to upgrade from a king room to a king suite! Very nice accommodations, good breakfast, and good location. Only drawback was finding it, because Google Maps directed me to a different hotel a block away, when I entered the address instead of the name of the hotel.

Overall the hotel was great except for the dirty shower doors and dirty bathroom floors!

A "wannabe" hotel

Posted Oct 22, 2016 on Hotels
The carpet was so dirty my stocking feet were "sticky". Found used tissues on the floor under bedspread. What did I expect from Hobbs, NM anyway??
