Hotel.com needs better communation with the hotels. I'm a disable Veteran and needed a room in the 1st floor. The hotel didn't received this special request. I was placed in the 2nd floor

Basic and boring

The staff was pleasant, no troubles there. The room we had was very boring and basic vanilla. There was no color to it at all. Vanilla walls with no art work - not even a photograph or terrible print - nothing. Bedding was white. Furniture was light fake wood. The bed was comfortable. We had a good laugh at the thermostat on the wall - it had a sticker that said "This Unit Is Controlled By Wall Thermostat". Well... that was on the thermostat. The actual unit was controlled...on the unit!!! Breakfast was a disaster. I drained the waffle mix - stood there for 3 minutes waiting for the last drip in hopes of getting a waffle. Then, they didn't have any regular syrup - only sugar free - which was mostly tasteless. I ended up throwing away 1/2 the waffle I worked so hard to make! Then, the banana was so bruised it was completely brown (though it looked fine from the outside.) And, there was no bacon! The elevator was painfully slow, and it only had 4 floors to travel. One would think that in a new property they would have properly functioning elevators. The reason for our staying there was hotel prices in Hobbs were much better than those in Carlsbad - which was our destination.
