We stayed at the Diplomat for a single night romantic getaway. The view from our beachfront balcony was stunning, and the king room was also spacious and well-kept even if the bed was a bit on the saggy side. The hotel also boasts two swimming pools, one of which forms a bridge and waterfall over the pool below. At the center of the infinity pool, there is a circular glass bottom from which swimmers in the pool below can see above. It was an interesting feature and a novelty, even if both pools were a bit dirty. I imagine it's difficult to keep them impeccably clean with so many people in and out of the pools. Despite the resort being a non-smoking property, many people were smoking around the pools and drinking and eating in the pools. The general atmosphere was a bit rowdy even though there were plenty families around as well. Finally, we felt the parking rates were a bit on the hefty side. All in all, we had a good time, but the drinking in the pools may have bothered us a bit more had the kids been with us.

Stayed the night of 9/26/15. Older room but clean. Full kitchen, flat screen TV, sitting area, comfortable bed and near the beach. $10 parking fee was a surprise but probably typical for area, not a big deal since room price was very reasonable.
Man at desk in A.M. advised no breakfast or coffee till 8:30AM when I went for coffee at 8:00AM. He could have offered to put on some coffee, but no big deal. Dropped off keys around 8:15AM. Unsmiling woman at desk barely acknowledged my existence until I stuck my head two inches into the breakfast area, at which time she raised her voice to announce "It's not ready! It's not ready!"
She narrowly avoided the catastrophic disaster of a paying motel desk absconding with a piece of cheese or one of her precious muffins a few minutes before the breakfast was officially opened.
Bottom line: Nice comfortable room with lazy rude staff in the morning.

Immaculately clean, quality room. The kitchen and bathroom had granite counters, quality appliances, and fixtures. Kitchen was stocked with clean new looking pans, plates, glasses, cups and utensils. Their staff was friendly. The only negative was the room was sort of small. I only saw the inside of the room we were in (#113) so I can't speak for any other of the rooms.
