Extremely clean, comfortable and convenient

We stayed at the Hollywood Hotel for 6 days and we would absolutely come back. Very clean hotel, extremely helpful and friendly staff. Very convenient location to everything, considering it was our first time in L.A. I can’t express enough how glad I was we decided to stay here!!

Staff made us feel uncomfortable over charged us!

Hotel staff was very unaccommodating disrespectful and tried charging for every little thing.

Fine place to stay.

The Hollywood Hotel was a very comfortable place to stay with clean rooms a very friendly staff and reasonable pricing. The overnight parking in their private parking lot was steep at 26 but since we only stayed one night it was worth it.

Would not stay here again.

Check In was slow. They advertised special accommodations (bed/treats) for pets but I never received them. The hotel is under construction so the pictures are misleading. The AC only goes down to 70 and even if you set it there, the room doesn’t get that cool. It gets really hot showering, blow drying hair, etc. The walls are thin, you can hear everything going on in the hallway from your room.

Very close to Hollywood Blvd. and close enough to walk to the Metro. Staff is SO nice! The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because they had the AC in the room deactivated and I get very hot. Will come back for sure!

Dirty bathrooms, unclean rooms, rude staff

Not sure how Expedia rates this hotel as a 4 star. I have seen 2 star hotels that are much better. The room was not clean, had sand on the floor. Bathrooms didn't have basic amenities like a soap holder. Didn't get hot water in the shower. Although breakfast was supposed to be until 10:30, they ran out of most items by 9:30 itself. When we asked the staff how they ran out, they were rude. Front desk employees weren't very helpful either. Expedia should review its rating of hotels. This hotel showed up when I filtered for 4 stars. But this hotel is no where close to being a 4 start hotel. Overall a very disappointing experience.

5 mins walk to Metro

Only 5 mins walk to Vermont/ Santa Monica metro station, fast and convenience if you are planning to take metro to Hollywood/ downtown LA and Univeral Studio. Not much to browse around the hotel, couple pizza and fast food places nearby. Reasonable price and comes with free breakfast, nothing fancy.

Surprisingly amazing

We booked this hotel for one night on new years. We booked it because it was just about all we could get. Super short drive from Univesal Studios. To our surprise it is one of the best rooms we have stayed in a very long time. The first thing we noticed was how modern everything looked, very clean and comfortable. I am picky with cleanliness and this room was clean! Free breakfast was delicious, great variety and staff was nice and happy to be there. I will definitely stay here again!

Air condition issue and Unexpected charges

Pros: Just Location nothing else.
Cons: room temp control and friendliness of front desk staff
Location: Universal studios and Griffith Observatory
I have stayed two nights and I could not sleep one whole night due to room temp issue. I was trying to lower the temp in control but it was not going down. Room was too hot that we could not sleep. When I complained to front desk on next day morning they told me turn off the temp control, so it wont blow the hot air. So there is no temp control in our room, if it is on it just blows hot air. There is no information about this until we lost our sleep and complain. When I tried to lower the temp on control it displays the numbers I set it up but it is not working. I have a disappointed with front desk check in process as well. I have been charged with unexpected charges which are more than my initial room reservation. I reserved for two queen bed but I somehow I forgot to put 4 members. I know it was my mistake and when I called wikipedia customer service they said they can update the numbers with no additional charges initially but later she said she could not do it since hotel people not allowing to change.

Great location , fairly good hotel condition except the bathroom needs renovation. One staff servng breakfast is bit rude.
