Friendly staff. The room was nice. Everything in Hollywood is very close including a metro stop which can take you to Downtown or Santa Monica.

Perfect location!Posted Oct 18, 2017
Pros: Location, location, location!
Location: The Dolby & Chinese Theater are both right across the street. Starbucks, Marshall’s, DSW Jimmy Kimmel within a block. Any tours also here.
The hotel staff were very friendly. Lots of employees to help especially in the valet and bell hop area. The hotel is in the perfect location. We were able to walk to everything, no need to battle the LA traffic. Plenty of dining venues on site. The pool area is very secluded, quiet and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Iconic Hollywood LandmarkPosted Oct 14, 2017
Pros: The history. The friendly staff at reception (particularly Jodie).
Cons: The pool area should be made available to all guests (including their children) after 7pm.
Location: Hollywood Boulevard is at your doorstep. For getting around greater LA I used Uber and cars were generally available at the hotel within minutes.
Centrally located in the middle of Hollywood Boulevard (opposite the Chinese Theatre) this historic hotel echoed with the memories of Hollywood's heyday in the 1940's and 50's. The rooms were clean and , although the bathroom a little squeezy and in need of a little refurbishment it was a great location to base ourselves for our four day stay in LA. We ate at their downstairs 25 Degrees hamburger restaurant and it was fine. More exciting (as I was travelling with my 12 year old) was the In-N-Out Burger outlet only a couple of blocks away and, for me, the historic restaurant (founded in 1919), the Musso & Frank Grill, that was a short walk down the Boulevard. For convenience to all these locations, the Hollywood Roosevelt was perfect. One thing to note, and that I was unaware of when I booked, was that the pool area turns into a cocktail bar at 7 pm. This meant that, after a long day walking and touring LA in up to 90 degree heat, I couldn't take my child for a swim at this iconic facility when we returned to the hotel after dinner as the rules prohibited this. Does this mean the hotel is not really family friendly? Perhaps. A bit annoying for a paying in-house guest? Definitely.

Everything is within reachPosted Oct 14, 2017
Beautiful architecture, wonderful staff, and customer service. Close to everything downtown (Walk of stars, Chinese theater, etc.). Pretty clean, great a/c, and wooden sliding door to help block out hallway noise. Only dislikes: no in room couch as advertised and no top sheet on beds.

Great location - Cool hotelPosted Oct 10, 2017
Pros: Location & History
The staff was very friendly, check in and out was very easy and the valet's were very helpful. The complimentary coffee in the lobby was a nice surprise as there were no coffee machines in the room and the pool area was just beautiful. The location was amazing to visit Hollywood blvd. The mini bar set up was cool although pricey.

Over pricedPosted Oct 9, 2017
Rooms half sized first given a double bed when asked for superior queen. Still no room to put your bags. Smaller than hotels in Japan. No complimentary water $10US per bottle. No in room tea coffee - supplied downstairs no milk left.. Not worth $440 per night. Hollywood fithly vomit urine rubbish piled on streets. Homeless beggars tour guides hassling. Hotel furnishings old in lounge huge tears in leather seats old .... Wi-Fi slowest I've seen in my month away.. Don't bother.

Pros: Location History Style
Cons: Make the pool non-smoking
Location: Grauman's Chinese Theatre Hollywood Walk of Fame Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum Kodak Theater Hard Rock Cafe Jimmy Kimmel show Hop on hop off tours
Hotel is full of Hollywood history and located right in the heart of downtown Hollywood. Literally steps away from dozens of tourist attractions and hop on hop off bus tours. Room was clean and comfortable, if a bit small. It also was surprisingly quiet considering the busy Hollywood Blvd outside. Pool area is gorgeous, but significantly tainted by the plethora of smokers - including cigars. Overall, an extremely convenient place to stay for anyone wanting to be in the heart of Hollywood.
