Nice hotel near theater

Hotel needs upkeep. Cracked paint, chipped art work and worn, cracked, broken laminated counters. It’s supposed to be a non smoking hotel but It smelled strongly of weed.

Hotel is centrally located

Pros: Comfortable rooms, friendly & helpful staff and super convenient location
Cons: Basic necessities is to provide mineral water, and complementary wifi to room instead of charging guests for usage. You can always include this in the
Location: Location is convenient as it is closed to the Manns cultural central and the star walk of fame
Experience is good as the Hotel is near the train station and closed to most attractions in Hollywood. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. However I'm surprised that such a established and upmarket hotel do not provide complimentary bottled drinks and wifi in the room. What a letdown!

Deceiving

Paid an upgrade for a room with a city view, however the city view was 100%constriction, including a crane that blocked view of city. When i tried to switch rooms, i was told it would be a $400 charge for room with better view. The hotel itself is nice, how ever, not worth the money.

The lighting wasn't very good. Beds are very low.

Pros: Location across from the Pantages Theatre.
Cons: Lighting and bed height
It was slow to check in with three people at the front desk and a short line waiting to check in. The questions answered by the front staff should have been redirected to the concierge. The concierge was very helpful with her recommendations.

W Hollywood NOT A Repeat

Staff is mediocre. Room was lovely and current! Lobby is lit 24/7 with undesirables... rough crowd! Pool Party has great wait staff, DJ, Food, people that frequent this hotel are undesirables. We prefer SLS . We will not be back

Bad Service staff

Pros: The lobby atmosphere was nice and so is the top view by the pool. It is really a glam hotel, love the Bar & surpizingly the Bar Staff were great!
Cons: Everything about service staff and their attitude should be improved. We left saying WHollywierd!
Location: Good location for exploring Hollywood, the walk of fame is right there and good local restaurants outside the hotel as well.
The attitude of the service staff at the reception was terrible. They literally mistreat everyone as I have observed. After Uber dropped me, I had to pick up my own luggage to come to checkin, as I later found that the valet guy who took the luggage out of Uber seem to think it was not his job to take it to front desk as the bellman was not there. The front desk ladies have so much attitude to serve, as I observed all of them.. Whoever checked me did not bother to check my SPG profile until I had to remind her to give me a high floor. I met three guests who complained of similar experience in the hotel at the reception. I was shocked when the lobby staff where I had my lunch while waiting for checking, told me to take my food and wine to my room myself when I asked for a box. Then I had to find my luggage was torn when it came to my room, however and wherever they stored it temporarily. When dining with a friend at the pool deck, the staff at the pool deck lied to us saying they don't serve food, to later verify they did. The staff seem simply lazy to serve guests. The next day, I find the toilet in my room broken in my room. , but the manager attended to it asap. The staff seem very unhappy with their jobs period and they seem to reflect it on the customers. This is the first ever Starwood affiliate hotel that disappointed me. Even-though the new manager tried to rectify the situation, I will never go back again.

Our iconic modern design sets the stage for exclusive experiences and while most of our guests revel in our unique features, we understand that not all guests have the same tastes. We sincerely apologize that your recent stay wasn't more comfortable. As in any other major metropolitan city, dedicated parking spaces are prime real estate. We offer a valet service that costs $42.00 each night and includes in/out privileges. Our rates are lower than other hotels in the area such as Lowe’s which costs $48 or The Roosevelt which is $47. There is additional parking options available off-site, but the rates and times of service may not allow for overnight parking. Finally, you are welcome to street park, but with street parking you must be aware of meters and parking restrictions. We apologize if you felt the price was an expensive offering.
