OK for the price

Posted Sep 12, 2017
Pros: Good value, good price. Non smoking
passing through and needed to stop for the night. Typical no frills value motel. Very standard, very plain room. Ok for the price. Nothing special. Includes microwave, refrigerator, and small kitchenette. No problems,

Kitchenette was nice surprise in no frills motel

Posted Jun 22, 2017 on Hotels
Few frills, and not much around to visit without a car. Everything looks quite dated, and a bit flimsy (doors especially), but it met our needs and was a good value. The room was surprisingly spacious. One nice feature was a kitchen table area in lieu of business desk, and the kitchenette was useful too. I would recommend this for a family on a budget who wants a room where the kids can eat at least one meal, use coloring books, etc. Bathroom was small and quirky. Very limited closet and drawer space available. You'll need a car to visit capital or university in E. Lansing because cabs are expensive due to the distances involved.

Looks are deceveing .

When pulling into the Village Inn we were a little afraid of the appearance . When we checked into the rooms we were very surprised . One of the rooms was a King with a small kitchen area. The other was 2 bedrooms with full size fridge and kitchen area plus a pull out sleeper. Everything was clean. A little noisy , convenience store just a minute away. For those that drink coffee no coffee maker in rooms both rooms did have microwaves. One little thing why a second bedroom off king room that was locked. Plus there was another room that was locked unknown?? Prices were just what we were looking , short drive to downtown Lansing and the town of Holt was a nice . Just what we were looking for as we drove from Toledo for a comic convention .Would stay again. One bad thing was the over hang when raining when standing outside it could use a gutter system to catch the rain.

Not a place you would choose.

Neighborhood was scary. Clean except for the roaches. Was not a motel room as expected but an unrented efficiency with an extra bedroom. Not worth the money. Could have gotten a 2 star for less.

This is, perhaps, the ONLY hotel in Michigan without a coffee maker in the room. Ye gads.

Convenient location

Posted Nov 22, 2016
Pros: close to destination, very affordable
Cons: insulation to cut traffic noise, drafts coming in around the door
Location: close to U of M Lansing
Older building, very clean, traffic noise at night, comfortable bed overall suited my desire to be close to my destination and not destroy my budget
