Pros: The mattress was awesome ..
Location: We didn't venture out .
The rooms where cleanse and comfortable , and the staff was very pleasant and personable . I definitely would recommend this Hotel.

Nice hotel; currently being renovated.

Pros: Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms
Cons: More hot water in the showers.
Very nice staff and rooms. One suggestion: need more hot water in the showers.

No hot water

Cons: The hotel was undergoing renovations and it looks like they should be done again. The workmanship was so poor the tiling looked like a 5 yr old did it
We couldn't shower our first day because there was no hot water. We were moved to another room only because we booked the second night separately. Luckily it had hot water. The front desk staff was unapologetic and just said they would let maintenance know.

An Unfortunate Combination of Yuck Factors

Location: Convenient to downtown and UAB and in a nice, safe area.
I usually feel confident staying at a Comfort Inn that I will have a fairly standardized experience - practical, comfy (but not luxurious) and safe. First, the good: Staff was pleasant, outside and lobby area were nice, breakfast was good, and they had a trippy water feature/sculpture that was kinda fun. Good mattress. I was aware that the motel was under renovation- no biggie...That probably explained the uneven, gritty tile and beat up interior of the elevators, right? So, I'm still optimistic...Also exhausted, having driven many hours. The first thing that hit me was the smell....Mildew with a heady after-whiff of urine. This was dismaying but less noticeable after being in the room for a few minutes. Then I started looking around....Dirty, worn carpet, an unfinished patch in the bathroom ceiling (patched but not sanded or painted), cracked sink basin, paint on the bathroom door scratched all to heck like an enormous dog had been denied entrance. I sit on the bed - it's so humid in the room that the sheets feel damp, despite the AC going full blast. The bathroom fan didn't work - probably not helping. Long story short, NOT up to the standards that I expect from this chain. And I am not normally a picky, prissy person. I knew I was only there one night and I had social plans so I spent relatively little time in the room. It wasn't making me sneeze and I didn't see any pests so I made the best of it....Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Great Stay

Pros: Decor, comfort, great breakfast, friendly staff.
Cons: No improvement needed.
Location: I was there on business, and the hotel was well situated for that, but I had no chance to explore.
Everything was excellent from room decor to abundant breakfast. Only regret was that we were there for only 1 night.

Nice

Pros: Clean, comfortable and staff was great.
Location: Close to main freeway and several places to eat.
Hotel was remodeling hallway. Room was fine. Breakfast was great with hot/cold choices. Food was very good. Room comfortable and clean. I would stay again.

Above and Beyond to Those in Need

I was among MANY who evacuated Florida during Hurricane Irma. They were gracious beyond the norm. Each day they offered sandwiches, chips and bottled water, at lunch time to those who were staying there. They made every accommodation possible. Thank you

Very pleasant stay

Pros: Staff was great! Hotel was nice and clean.
The staff at the hotel was amazing! They knew they had a full hotel of Hurricane evacuees and they went out of their way to make sure everyone had a nice stay. They even brought in dinner one night for everyone staying there. They were super kind and very attentive. The rooms were nice and clean and the facilities were great. The breakfast was nice and overall it was a nice experience.
