Nice hotel near the zoo.

Posted Nov 18, 2017
Pros: Close to the zoo.
Cons: Accessible room with 2 queen sizes beds rather than just king size bed wheelchair accessible rooms.
Location: Close to the zoo
Nice hotel, good breakfast, friendly staff, afternoon coffee, and chocolate chip cookies.

Business overnight

Business overnight.... Excellent central location for the southern part of metro Birmingham. Close to many restaurants and corporate offices. The property is excellent and the savings be at Expedia were extremely significant! Would recommend this hotel and will stay there again.

NIce hotel, could use some updating

Posted Nov 6, 2017
Pros: See above, staff, location and breakfast.
Cons: See comments about updating rooms/carpet etc.
Nice hotel, but getting a bit long in the tooth. Carpet, elevators etc showing some age/wear. My bathroom tub had stains in the bottom and messy caulk job all around it. The tub faucet dripped all night as well. I had to strong arm the faucet to get it to almost stop. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Fresh cookies at night is nice. Breakfast is huge and very good.

Great location, needs updating

Posted Nov 4, 2017
Great staff, love having waters provided and a good coffee station. Only issue was room- tiny bathroom, old mattress on bed made for a tough night of sleep. A re-model and upgrade to bedding and this is a 4 star experience.

Nice hotel close to zoo

Posted Oct 30, 2017
Very nice hotel and enjoyable Stay! Located only about a mile from the zoo and with restaurants right nearby. Room was very clean and smelled great. Everything was in working order and the breakfast was delicious! They had a pumpkin decorating contest going on for the employees that guests could vote on, which was fun! Complimentary water available in lobby. Only downfalls were the size of the room and that there was no fridge in the room.

Old bathroom

Posted Sep 24, 2017
Room needs to be updated. Old style microwave and refrigerator. Bathroom faucets were old and leaky. The worst part was the water did not get hot- only luke warm.

Small & uncomfortable

Posted Aug 28, 2017
Beds were small and uncomfortable. Pillows were plentiful but awful. Needless to say I woke up tired and sore. The temperature fluctuated from hot to freezing all night long. Horrible experience in the room. Breakfast was pretty good.

Location, location, location

Be aware that this Hampton Inn is not up to par compared to most. For example, the elevators are filthy with dirt, dust, paper clips, clothes tags, etc in the corners. The only reason we stay there while in Birmingham is it's proximity to Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Birmingham Zoo and our daughter.
