Overall nice stay

Posted Sep 8, 2017
Pros: location
Location: Plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Quick drive to lakes, hiking, horseback riding.
Great location in this quaint town. Hotel is an older building, but is kept in nice condition. Walls are thin so you can hear noise from other rooms, the restaurant below, and outside, but it was never too loud.

Nice location for exploring the area.

Pros: Location, charm of being in an older hotel.
Cons: Door lock, bathroom size.
Location: Great location to visit our daughter's summer camp, which is on a lake nearby.
Check in was fine and the bar in the hotel and the seating outside was nice. The room was little dated though. The door to the room had a lock that did not fit well in door frame, did not fee safe. The bathroom in our double room was very tiny, and the toilet was too close to the door for someone who is tall.

Thanks very much for your review. Please understand that the Hotel was built in 1827 before indoor plumbing. When that was installed in the early 1900s the bathrooms had to be placed where they could fit. unfortunately some of the rooms have small bathrooms but they are kept very clean and are perfectly serviceable. All our room doors have secure locks on them. WE are very careful about that .

Sub-par

Posted Jul 31, 2017
Pros: Staff was friendly and polite
Cons: The rooms appear to have not been updated since the mid-late 1970's. The bathroom is extremely small and lacks a sink (the sink is in the main room).
Location: close to main shopping/restaurant area of Honesdale and town park.
Hotel was reasonably priced and located above a very nice restaurant. Staff were friendly and polite. The rooms appear to have not been updated since the mid-late 1970's. The bathroom is extremely small and lacks a sink (the sink is in the main room). Pipes make weird noises all night long. Carpet is reasonably clean but under the bed was filthy with dust and the detritus of previous guests. Water pressure in shower was inconsistent.

Hi The rooms were updated within the last few years. Please understand that the Hotel was built in 1827 before indoor plumbing. When the bathrooms were put in they had to be fit in and unfortunately some of them are very small but all are perfectly serviceable. We work hard to maintain the historic character of the Hotel Wayne. thank you for being a guest of the historic Hotel Wayne.

The best part about this hotel was the bartender. She was so friendly and helpful. Other than that this place is old and needs a huge facelift.

Historic hotel

Historic place. Has all the basic amenities but guests must be informed that all rooms are on 2nd and 3rd floors and there is no elevator.

Snowed in

Posted Mar 16, 2017 on Hotels
I was there during the Stella snowstorm which dumped over two feet of snow and the city declared a state of emergency. Almost everything was closed, including the hotel restaurant. Two staff members were the only people working during the two and a half days of this storm. They were both very nice. The hotel was built in 1827 and it shows its age. My room had a very small bathroom but the room was large with two twin beds pushed together. It was reasonably comfortable and quiet.
