Worse bed ever
Posted Dec 5, 2016
The staff were friendly albeit a annoying that the Concierge / Bellman decided to call us at 10:30 pm to inform us we have a message with all of us already asleep (including 7 month old child). Any parent out there knows how difficult it can be to get a child down to bed only to be awoken by an unnecessary call.
The bed as to be the hardest, most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. The standard room was very plain, run down and has no personal touches - plus small (but normal for HK).
The breakfast was very average, perhaps less then average. Terrible coffee. After 2nd morning decided to go elsewhere for breakfast even though paid for the free breakfast.
On the day before our last night (4 nights total) we did explain to the manager of our opinion of the rooms and the 10 pm wake up call experience. He was gracious enough to upgrade us to a suite on an upper floor. The room was much nicer decorated and obviously more spacious. We appreciated the accommodation by the manager, it made our stay a little more comfortable for the last night but the bed was still hard as a rock.
My suggestion would be to invest in some decent mattresses. I've stayed in hundreds maybe thousands of hotel beds and these topped the list of worst mattress to date.
