Lovely hotel overlooking the sea

Posted Jan 6, 2018
From the pickup at the airport to the drop off at the end of our holiday, the service provided by the hotel was excellent. Our room was ample, with a large balcony which we frequently used. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and the pool was a very good size. We’d recommend this hotel.

One evening no fish on menu in spite of large local catch at nearby market.

Best Hotel in Town

Posted Aug 22, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: Well laid out resort hotel in nice gardens right on the beach. Smiling friendly staff,
Cons: Decor's a bit sterile. No Solomons art or craftwork on display. No Island motifs to give it a sense of place. From inside could be any 5 star hotel.
Location: Honiara town is drab and dirty. You need to get out to the beaches and villages to find the real charm. Good craft market next door.
Everything positive except for the Terrace food menu which was pretty ordinary.

Beautiful hotel but expensive.

Stayed only one night. Service in the restaurant was very slow. Would not recommend eating there for lunch unless you have about 2 hours. Regular staff was okay but light on English.

An oasis within Honiara

Posted May 4, 2017
Cons: Waiting staff could do with a bit more training. For example more than half the time I had to remind them of what I had ordered from them
Location: It is well known Honiara is not the nicest of places in Solomon Islands but HPH and the Casino are certainly improving things for tourists
Had a lovely stay in HPH, spotlessly clean with friendly staff.

2 weeks at Heritage

This is probably one of the very few world class hotels in Honiara. Nice room, with a nice view on the ocean. Only downside is the lack of diversity in breakfast and food menu.

Serenely calm hotel mid Honiara chaos

Posted Apr 14, 2017 on Lastminute
Pros: The hotel is very much an oasis of serene calm just a hundred metres from Honiara's busy, congested main street. Its situation is very convenient.
Cons: Solomon Islanders seem to think other people want things cold. The air-conditioning in my room would have frozen me -- adjust it as soon as you arrive
Location: Traffic in Honiara is awful. You walk -- it's quicker than a taxi. Markets, museum, shops are nearby. Take a taxi to the US & Japanese war memorials.
Heritage Park is a modern hotel consisting of a number of independent buildings on the harbour edge in Honiara. My room was functional, plain and very comfortable, air conditioned and with a balcony overlooking "Iron-bottom Sound" (the harbour full of the wrecks of the naval Battle of Guadalcanal.) The "beach" is not very usable but the swimming pool (with attached bar) is. There is an excellent (if expensive) dining-room -- you can either sit in air-conditioned comfort or 'al fresco'. Staff are very anxious to please in the Solomon Islander way. The grounds are manicured and the hotel offers many more services (e.g. conferencing) than the ordinary tourist needs.

Nice hotel, but overpriced

Posted Feb 26, 2017
Pros: Good location, friendly staff and clean. Rooms good size and mine was bright.
Cons: WiFi connectivity was not good, kept dropping out.
Location: Location was great, across the road from work, but traffic congestion made it difficult to get around Honiara.
Booked Executive Room with Queen bed. That was written on my booking form. Was provided with basic room and twin beds, ground floor and very dark. Went straight back to reception and after 5 minutes I was given a nice high level Executive Room with Queen bed. as I was staying 10 days room and Internet was important. Maximum 500 mb per day for Internet was not good and it was intermittent. This needs to be rectified.
