We were very happy with the location of this rental; literally across the street from numerous The Bus stops as we didn't rent a car. Its an older building with both small pool and jacuzzi, which we took advantage of nightly ( open until 10pm).
The beach was blocks away and near many restaurants, shops and central Waikiki action.
The unit itself has new quiet AC unit as promised and has simple furnishings including fridge (for cold drinks), micro, coffee pot and full plates, pots, pans, etc. There was also a nice "welcome"notebook from the owner with all kinds of helpful info inside including Wifi passwords, AC instruction, etc.
Work was said to be going on, but we didn't hear much other than vacuums from the maid. There was a bit of city street noise since we face the street (sirens, buses, beeping trucks), which many be better with new double pane doors going in soon--you ARE in the 'city'!
Two very small 'issues' : very smelly bed pillows that had either horrible body odor or mildew ; so bad we had to remove them from the bed. And dirty ceiling area near the AC unit which needed to be dusted/cleaned. Other than that: the beds were comfy, plenty of fresh towels, toilet paper, clean sheets/carpets, and working TV/Internet and hot water. Ice machine was by the pool as well as restrooms/shower.
This is a bit picky...but we packed beach towels and upon arrival found a closet of 'beach stuff' that wasn't mentioned/ photographed. Same concerning hair dryer and free soaps/shampoos which we packed. 'Marketing' of this unit falls short(showing all these extras in photos or text), which is a shame.
Great exchange with the management office: I phoned with the pillow complaint and check in/check out; all 5 star. This is an older building in a very good location.
We would stay here again. I hate to make a mention of the tiny issues, but hopefully things can be taken up a notch after....
