I booked the "Deluxe Suite, Ocean View" room for 3 nights on Hotels.com. They put me on floor 22 of the Diamond Head Tower. Overall, great room, great service, good views considering the location, and a few minor annoyances.
The check-in process was simple. They didn't have early check-in available, but they called me when my room was ready. I was greeted with a lei made of kukui nuts (not sure if real or replica).
The official room photos online were accurate. The room was simple, modern, understated. The suite was large enough to begin with, but space saving techniques (sliding interior doors, washer/dryer in closet, etc.) made the room seem even larger.
The view was nice. The Ritz is about half a mile away from the beach, but I could still see the ocean clearly. Approx. a 30 degree view of the ocean, with Fort Derussy Park and a few low buildings between the Ritz and the ocean.
The balcony's an OK place to hang out. Good views, some traffic noise, but not too bad. The floor does get hot during the day, so I'd recommend wearing shoes.
The kitchen is very convenient. Good enough for light cooking. Freezer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and hot water pitcher are some appliances you don't see in all hotel room kitchens. The standard kitchen appliances are present as well. Most appliances are Miele-branded.
