Last year we wanted to go to the Redwoods, I hadn't been since I was a child and my now fiance (boyfriend at the time) had never been. We planned a trip and headed up North.

It was obvious when we made it to Redwood territory because the trees got taller and taller and wider and wider. But we kept driving trying to find Redwood National Park. We tried mapping it in our GPS and wondered why we couldn't get directions to the park entrance. We finally stumbled upon a state park ranger station and decided to ask them. Turns out Redwood National and State Parks is an "area" or "region", it's not a specific place or address. We WERE in the park - there is no National Park entrance. Who knew?

We explored for hours with fog rolling in and out of the trees and sunbeams darting through branches. It was magical! This is one of those places that overwhelms me and floods me with emotion! I could have spent weeks here but we only had a few days. It was such an incredible experience! I already cannot wait to go back!

"Had a great stay at the Cal-Poly Motel 6! I really liked the ease of check-in with the virtual agent. I also actually liked the cozy room size, it was clean and compact. I will say, it could use a more efficient heater. The lady that assisted after hours at the desk was friendly, polite, and my pup loved her! She checked in occasionally and helped with any room needs. A good location, it’s central to a lot of good food, parks, and walks and I felt safe, even walking my pup at night. Would definitely stay again when in Arcata!"
