Cons: Nothing
Location: A major mall and other stores conveniently nearby.
A very nice experience overall! I also thought that the breakfast choices were good. . . .eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, muffins, juice and coffee.

Good hotel for the price

My wife and I needed a place to stay near the Riverchase Galeria mall, and this hotel was less than half the price of others in the area. It's like most Days Inn hotels in layout--a two-story building with external balconies and entrances that require climbing stairs if you're on the second floor. The room that we had (219) was surprisingly nice, with a big, thick king bed, a sofa, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. The room was in excellent condition, and the TV has a lot of channels. The hotel is on a relatively quiet side street off of the main street, and our room was located in the back corner, so there were no noise problems. The breakfast was typical Days Inn fare, simple but plenty of choices, including hot dishes. The only problem that we encountered was the Internet--the wifi signal kept cutting in and out the entire time we were there (two days). When I asked the clerk about it, she said that that's just the system that they have. They need to do something about this, since this can be a turn-off for what is otherwise a very nice hotel option.

It was Ok for the type of hotel that it is. Our bathroom door had one hinge and was hard to close. The breakfast was aweful. For what I was paying I expected a lot more. At lest a decent breakfast.

Undergoing remodeling

Pros: Location
Cons: Quieter HVAC units and an actual closet
Location: Pretty well located close to restaurants and shopping and other cultural attractions
About one fourth of the rooms were being remodeled. A large amount of parking was taken up by the dumpster. The remodeling wasn't very extensive and should have upgraded the very noisy HVAC units.

get a new desk clerk and clean the room better

Pros: only the before we got there was the price.
Cons: new front desk clerk
the front desk clerk complained to me about having to be at work rather than get me checked in to the room.(5 minutes)If you don't want to work then go home.When i found urine on the bathroom floor i went to complain and maybe get another room but was told by the same clerk for an additional $25. i could get another room.I told her for another $25.we could have and should have stayed at the Fairfield right down the road.We will not be staying here again.However we had already booked and paid for the room.But we do come to Birmingham a few times a year but will not stay at this Days Inn again.

Nice Location, Disappointing Rooms

The refrigerator in my room was leaking, so the carpet was wet. There were holes in the curtains. The air conditioning was so loud when it came on and ran that it sounded like a train coming through the room. The walls are very thin, so you can hear your neighbors and outside noise. The staff was very friendly, but the hotel charges $10 for early check-in.

Good value

Decent home for the price. The beds are pretty firm but the shower is really nice. Great cleaning service. There is absolutely no parking here--biggest drawback! Breakfast was pretty good as well

Lovely hotel for the price. Nice clean room. Neighborhood seemed nice. Lots of good options at the Continental breakfast. I didn't get a chance to use it, but there was a nice patio and grill out back.
