Getting away from it all in luxury and simplicity

Posted Oct 17, 2016
Pros: I loved the open plan lobby and dining area that gave you a full view of the wonderful dramatic palm filled coast. Happy and accomadating staff.
Cons: Could have better food at the dining area. Showers and cable reception could do with an upgrade.
Location: Hopkins is a really small village and the lodge is located on the outskirts of it. Rent a golf cart and explore the village and it's friendly locals
Great place to get away from it all. On entry the hotel lobby is warm inviting and spacious. The friendly hotel staff greet you with a complimentary welcoming drink and a moment to take in the beautifully weaved straw chandeliers and cool ocean breeze in the high roofed , open space big windowed lobby and dining area. After a quick walk through of the lodge property and acclimatization of the area, you are shown to your large thatched rooved room/bungalow that also includes a little patio area with chairs and a hammock. Here you can sit and enjoy the passing iguana's, cheerful birds and accommodating staff while sipping on a local rum. The rooms have a really comfy bed, wi-fi, coffee machine, refrigerator and tv with full cable. Beautiful traditional artwork adorn the walls and all in all, it's a really comfy place. The beach and pool area is only steps away from any location of this quaint lodge. The highlight of it all was the ever helpful, always cheerful, never stop running beach Captain Larry. From bringing fresh towels to chopping down a coconut to drink it's water, Larry's main objective was to make sure you were comfortable, happy and relaxed. And he did this ten fold. The lodge offers all the adventure sports plus complimentary bicycles, kayaks and stand up paddle boards In a nutshell, very little is left to spare here. You can do everything and nothing and love it all.

One of the best!

Definitely a great resort, extremely friendly staff, very peaceful and relaxing, not to mention the incredible views! Pros: Rooms were big enough and got all you need to feel at home, they're like apartments (we stayed in a family room ) Cons: The food at the resort is overpriced for what you get (quantity/quality) Theres very little to do around if youre planning on doing activities because everything is far away as theyre half day trips.

Family visit - 08/2016

Posted Aug 26, 2016
Pros: The Staff and facilities were excellent.
Cons: They need to pave the road. The hotel is making millions and is dusty, uncomfortable and bump to get to and leave. It would help the local economy too
Location: They need more developed restaurants and bars in the area. The hotel's prices for drinks are very reasonable so it is not like they are gouging you.
Great hotel, staff are fantastic but the hotel needs to work on serving hot food. The presentation was great and the staff could not have done more to make you happy. Great location, great time.

Right on the beach

Posted Aug 18, 2016
Pros: Room and bed are comfortable and spacious. You are right on the beach and the staff is great.
Cons: Need a fridge and microwave...restaurant needs a menu with more variety.
Location: Go snorkeling and use the kayaks. Go to Dangriga and south to Placencia for variety. Drive to the Guatemala border & bargain with the folks to Tikal
The staff is as friendly as I have ever seen. The snorkeling crew is excellent and the whole staff is dedicated to your happiness. The food is average and I recommend renting a car so that you can travel and sample other restaurants. Highly reommended!

It was amazing waking up steps from the ocean everyday. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. One of the best vacations I've ever taken mainly due to the resort itself.

Beautiful views of the sea, nice beach, lots of land and sea activities available, fantastic staff. A little off the beaten path but a great little resort. Weather was hot but the rain stayed away.

Amenities of a resort with option of seclusion

Posted May 27, 2016 on Hotels
We stayed in a Cabana with a peak of the ocean from the window and balcony. It was larger than expected and a good value. Air conditioner worked well and the bedding was comfortable. There are many great food experience to be had in the village of Hopkins v. the resort. If you want convenience the resort has it all. Very hospitable staff, no complaints.
