This is a mediocre hotel, maybe the best in Faial, but mediocre. We would have been happier for the 3 days here if we could have gotten our room cleaned and some fresh towels.

Hotel Du Canal is a beautiful property. The room was spacious, well appointed and clean. We had a view of the Harbor and it was a short walk to just about everything in town. The staff was so courteous and helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location
We spent 2 nights here. Check in was easy, room was small but clean and nice. Location was good- close to many restaurants and tour operators on the waterfront. Breakfast was ok, though plenty of food. Would certainly consider staying here again.

This hotel is adequate for a stay in Horta, and moderately priced, but we have gotten so accustomed to great hotels in the Azores that it was a disappointment. We had a relatively comfortable room and the property is well located, but the staff is not warm or welcoming. There’s a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi, but since there was no staff around, there was no one to ask to turn on the steam room or help us figure out why the jacuzzi wasn’t working properly. There’s a good breakfast in a room with a nice view of the harbor but virtually no staff there if you want to make any requests. There are not a lot of hotels in Horta, so not many alternatives, but you just need to set your expectations if you stay here.

The location is wonderful if you have a car. Otherwise there is nothing around and the closes town is a 4 km walk away. The staff and food (except the breakfast) are excellent. The breakfast is average. The rooms need updating. They are dark and the beds are plywood hard.

Great place in amazing town!
Excellent! Location is superb, the staff did all the best for us: jacuzzi and hot sauna are available on request. And the view!!! Pico Island and volcano just in front of you at the stone's throw. If you're lucky, Pico will drop cloudy blanket and show its summit to you :)

The room with a view
My husband snd I have stayed at this hotel previously and are happy once again with our stay , however we feel that some attention is needed . Our mini bar was not working and being diabetic I could not have a cold place for my insulin or even have a cold drink! But overall it is a beautiful place with a breathtaking view of the pico mountain. Service was very good . The from desk staff are always very helpful and friendly, Will return

Good hotel
Good hotel with good service. Breakfast would be better as a buffet, as you feel like you are harassing the waiters to get you this, or get you that. Exploring ways to provide a buffet safely should be their priority. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, with plenty of electrical outlets to charge devices. View from the room was bleak - pay the small difference to upgrade to a Pico view. The only downside, is it’s quite a hike from the ferry terminal (2 km).

We arrived early, they had storage area for our bags so we could start exploring the city. Restaurant and bar on site were very good. Lots if not all spoke English. Bed was very comfortable, room spacious with view of the ocean.

Great location. Nice room with a view of Pico Island. Good breakfast. Shower in room 307 has some mold spots. Could use a bit more storage in the bathroom - a shelf or small cabinet under the sink. Softer toilet paper would be great as well. Front desk staff always helpful.
