Hotel nice, room's need remodeling

Posted Feb 11, 2018
Pros: Nice beach. Good breakfast. Clean rooms. Nice outdoor area.
Cons: The rooms need to be remodeled.
Location: Walking to Subway for dinner is not recommended, it's too far. :) Learn the bus system.
My husband and I planned a quick 4 day trip to Cancun and decided not to go super fancy in where we stayed due to the duration. The hotel lobby, dining area and outdoor area where all very nice! The beach is well kept with plenty of beach chairs. And the pool was great. The breakfast had much more variety than we expected plus egg, quesadilla and waffle/pancake stations. The staff was friendly. There were two draw backs. The rooms are in desperate need of remodeling. They look like they dropped out of the 1970's with style and colors. Also, the room was set to cold and we weren't able to turn the heat up. We ended up opting to turn it off and send for extra blankets. But, the room was clean. And the other was the location. Not bad if you are taking the bus, but we tend to walk everywhere and didn't realize how far it was from everything including the ferry's. Our fault. :) Overall, we were pleased with it for our 3 nights.

Double check your food and drink charges

Posted Feb 9, 2018
Pros: The best thing about it is the white sand beach and the clear blue water. Enough chairs for everyone.
Cons: The integrity of some of the wait staff. At some other locations, it is clearly posted that you should get a receipt/ticket. They should do the same.
Location: You can walk the beach for miles. Also, directly across the street there is a park and a walkway that is worth exploring.
The hotel was great. The beach area is absolutely beautiful. The front desk staff was polite and helpful. The housekeeping staff was always friendly and our room was spotless. The dinner restaurant served good food and the wait staff was attentive. Unfortunately, what would have been a perfect stay was marred by a couple of wait staff employees who tried to overcharge us. While approaching the beach bar to place an order, one of the waiters, after confirming that I was paying cash, offered to take my order and bring it to me on the beach. My order totaled just under $11 (195 pecos). The waiter delivered our drinks, did not give me the ticket and said the total was $15. When I told him that was incorrect he got flustered and said he would go and check. I don't mind anyone making a mistake, but I cannot stand to be cheated. I spoke with the manager who confirmed that since he kept my ticket, which showed the actual prices, he had indeed done it intentionally. I had a similar incident occur with room service. It wasn't by much, but the room service employee did not provide my ticket and just told me the total. When I asked to see the ticket, the actual total was less than what he had told me. Not by much, but that's not really the point. So, ask to see your tickets if you are paying cash.

Putsi Anica

Posted Feb 8, 2018
Rudest Hotel manager ever. Jan 31 we were woke up by running water. Drainpipe broke in shower. There was toilet paper and poop in the tub. They moved us to another room. I asked for some type of reimbursement they could give us for our inconveniences. PUTSI said it was just a water pipe and offered $50. I told her it was sewage. She acted like I didn't no what I was talking about. Next day she approached us and asked what we would like and I told her a free nights stay. Two days later she did give us free night. The stay at Casa Mya was nothing but a bad experience.Only two pleasant people the rest were rude. I told manager she was rude and unprofessional. Even her appearance she had a uniform shirt on that was to small and gapping in the front. Will not be returning to Mexico ever!

Super hotel, excellent view of the beach.

Posted Feb 4, 2018
Pros: The recreational areas, the view of the beach, the general service they give to us.
Cons: The waiting at the beginning to check in, was about two hours.
Location: sky trips, the banana, volleyball, yoga classes, the Caribbean chip (pirates), the trips to the mayan ruins, the mayan piramides...
From the beginning was an excellent experience, the workers are super professionals and outgoing. The hotel installations in very good conditions, a lot of activities to do all the day long.

Quiet and Comfortable

Posted Feb 4, 2018
Pros: Close to a bus stop. Easy transportation to get anywhere
Cons: Remember, like all the other hotels, they offer the sales pitch for a timeshare.
Location: The hotel has a couple restaurants, but otherwise, there are no others within. walking distance. You can book day trips at the hotel.
Casa Maya may not be for everyone. It is one of the older hotels in Cancun. But, sits directly on a nice quiet beach. If you're looking for a party scene, not your hotel. But, if your plans are to just relax and get away from your hectic life, this could be the place for you. We enjoyed our stay.

The staff was great, very warm and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious with kitchen and living room. The breakfast was delicious and had so much variety of food, you really get the taste of the Mexican cuisine.

Very good for quality/price ratio

Posted Jan 22, 2018
Pros: Great location, beachside, view from the rooms is beautiful. Quiet at night.
Cons: Service efficiency could be improved, most of all at check in.
I enjoyed my time at Casa Maya and would not hesitate to go back. The location is very convenient, all rooms are spacious and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the beach. The food at both the buffet and other dining area was reasonably priced and good. The only thing preventing me from awarding 5 stars was the service; doing the check in on the first night took well over 30 minutes and it took a long time to get our keys which was strange considering it was late at night. Once we finally finished the process, the person who was supposed to help us with our luggage did not give any indications of coming our way to help. I otherwise would not have minded but I was travelling with my elderly parents for whom it was a challenge to carry luggage back and forth as no one provided instructions on how to get to their room and we had to cross the pool area which obliges you to take a flight of stairs and lift your luggage. This whole process was tiring after a day of traveling and considering I had to get up early the next day for work events. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant stay - the beach next to the hotel is nice and quiet and it's a great central location to discover Cancun and the other nearby attractions.
