The staff here is amazing. Shout out to Mikel, Angie, Andy, for being kind and fun. Pablo working around the pool is top notch. What is killing this place is the food. Two restaurants open for dinner for 7 days is real drag and the food was not good. We nearly starved out. Breakfast is the best of it. Ceviche at the pool is great but you can't live on it twenty four seven. The construction there is still pretty heavy duty. When this is running at capacity it's going to be a train wreck.

Marriott Cancun hotel experience I wanted to surprise my wife with an incredible experience, found out on the internet add that said recently opened march 2024 so great a new hotel recently remodeled, at no point they said anything about construction. We arrived beautiful lobby, they said it was all inclusive, we wanted to eat they mentioned they had Japanese restaurant hibachi and sushi, I was starving and said I wanted sushi, they told us that was closed indefinitely the sushi , and hibachi was opened but said no more reservations was full and needed 1 day in advance , we walked by and only 3 tables of people, I told my wife in Spanish complaining of the bad service and a waiter told us they were empty that we could come in when in reception they told us no Room was super nice but smelled like paint and glue we got dicy we had a nice view when I opened balcony could see gazebo close to water and construction workers laying in floor like sleeping that was my view, next morning around 7/7:30 am I could her noises, hitting hammers, guys laughing, my door shaking like someone trying to open, so I got out tons of construction workers in halls, all adjacent rooms opened guys painting, hammering, chatting, look very bad went down to the buffet I go to Cancun and playa all the time this time I paid almost $700 a night expected an amazing buffet, all restaurants when I go have this incredible tables with tons of exotic fruits and food, smoked salmon, prosciutto my surplice was that

I've never left a review before but this one, I felt inclined. They were dishonest about the amount of construction that's being done on-site. Constructions are quite everywhere. Very loud construction from early in the morning, throughout the day, and sometimes late at night...it's impossible to rest! Half of the resort is not open yet & closed due to construction. You see it all from your room, from the pool, from the lobby... To make things worse, it rained one day we stayed & rain leaked everywhere - main lobby, restaurants, etc... I'm sure the resort will be wonderful once it's fully open but now is NOT the time to go. It looked like they won't be finished until at least end of the summer. Plus side? Whatever is open is quite nice, and the food and performances at the Mexican Restaurant (Casa Madre) is good.

Just came back from a 5 day stay at the Marriott. Although some renovations are still underway we had an excellent experience! We were never disturbed by the construction noise. The entire staff was attentive and pleasant. They had plenty of planned activities for the children because camp kids was not open. I never heard one complaint from any child that they were board! They also had a full day of activities for adults as well! Special shout out to Pablo! He was amazing! He took great care of us and all the guests! I would love to come back once the renovations are complete! The hotel is already beautiful and it will stunning once completed.

LIKE: the property was located in the middle of the hotel zone and was a bus ride to everywhere. there was not enough affordable restuarants within walking distance. most of the restaurants were "fancier" DISLIKE: concierge was not knowlegeable about the location of the hotel in reference to our excursions (e.g. they didn't know how to get 13.5KM on the hotel zone and suggested we take a taxi which cost 20 US dollars when we could have walked a KM and/or bus for one US dollar)

I just returned home from my fifth time at this property. I have always enjoyed the layout the view its charm and the staff has always taken care of us.. A few changes I noticed from my last visit was the breakfast menu in the restaurant downstairs restaurant layout went from spectacular to much smaller and the cost stayed the same. We always had the breakfast each morning and were looking forward to all of the options even if we didn’t take advantage of them. We never minded spending $30 per person each day because the options were amazing. Also when I called down for coffee service to the room they said we had to come down to get it or brew single cups in the room. We always had been able to get a carafe of morning coffee delivered in the mornings. I hope restaurant selections will be updated. I was not happy with the Polynesian restaurant steak meals or the food at the Thai restaurant. Also when I tried calling the room service option from the room no one answered so I had to always call the hotel operator. I understand the resort is renovating until 2024. I would hope that return guests like myself would have been surveyed and their opinions taken into consideration before any other changes are made to the property. I would love a chance to visit the property before the grand public reopening to experience the new resort! Thanks!

The staff was amazing, the hotel is positioned perfectly on the strip to catch the centered sunrise . The beach was perfect. The place was clean. We had to go to jw Marriott for spa and gym amenities. I was in the presidential suite, furniture seemed old, the spa on the front balcony leaked when full. Most faucets leaked in some way. The bathroom shower door didn’t contain shower water from splashing on the floor. But the memories I made here were priceless. I’m a bit of a stickler about construction so my eye catches everything. They are renovating for a whole year beginning in April to 2024 so I assume all issues will be addressed. Nonetheless I would do it all over again.

Once we got there we were treated like royalty, but my wife had a frustrating time before we left, trying to contact the activity coordinators (not concierge). A lot of faith after all the air fare, etc, to not know if our plans would be fully booked up before we got there. It turned out fine and they bent over backwards for us. I hate to say anything, but that may be an issue for someone. And the shop in the lobby has the best vanilla ice cream I've had in a long time.

The hotel is very nice, clean and up to date. The rooms were fresh, the lobby area and shops was updated and easy to wander. The pool was lovely and big. The beach front was excellent as well. Nice place for families, couples and singles.
