Hotel Staff

The hotel staff are very friendly and treat you like family. Especially the young lady(Andrea) that do the pool activities(basketball/volleyball) and ping pong. I will miss her because she was a lot of fun.

excellent experience

Pros: everything
Location: good location, is close to everything I can get the local bus to go to every beach and entertainment. but you do not need to go to anywhere.
everything went really good. the staff super kind, the food tasty. they made bbq two days one day at lunch the other one on dinner with meat, pork and chicken as well. shows night excellent. mexico dinner show it was the best with mariachi i guess it was the best. definitely I will back for my next cancun vacation.

Solo Stay

I can honestly say the hotel was very welcoming upon my arrival.....however was extremely non helpful with any customer service request ....never was able to use 500 credit ...called down to front desk ....slipped and fell....requested plastic bag for ice ...never had bag brought to me

Beautiful views of the beach!

Pros: We liked the location of the hotel. On the beach, on the hotel strip, and close to shopping.
Cons: Room temperature and comfort of beds
Location: We ventured out to Xcaret and the shopping mall across the street.
We had a good vacation at Occidental Tucancun. Our family of four enjoyed the food, pool, beach and entertainment- they had a show in their theater almost every night. The mall was close by so nice to walk to get some souvenirs. It was a nice relaxing place. Next time, we would get a larger room. The beds weren't as comfortable and bathroom was small; don't care for the toilet inside/ sink outside bathroom. Its not private enough when you have kids with you. There was also no exhaust or vent in the bathroom so it took forever to dry after the shower was used. The air conditioning was loud and either too cold or too warm. We had to play around that for a while to get that right. Overall, a nice hotel for a relaxing time.

Nice hotel near beach

Hotel and staff were great. $500 credit is not credit but discount coupons. Hated dealing with timeshare people. Overall enjoyed our stay there.

Not bad but not great

Cons: Free wifi for guest Actually give guest resort credit not a coupon paper
Had to change rooms twice because I could hear the loud noise from the outdoor air conditioning units all night. So ask for a room facing the ocean. Expedia needs to remove the "$500 resort included" because it isn't resort credit but a piece of paper the receptionist gives to you when you check in listing the things you can get a discount on, like a crappy coupon you don't even use any of it. You have to pay for WIFI as well.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Bigger elavators
Location: Ocean clinic, malls, aquarium, plenty of places to eat, shopping.
Everything was great. Had a good time and will be returning in a couple of months.

Nice hotel, terrible staff

The hotel is at a good location, right at the beach. There is a mall very close to it. The hotel is not huge but I think it just has the right size. It wasn't overcrowded. They have 3 nice pools, one of them is a quiet pool without music or children, and is has a bar with drinks. I really liked that! The beach area is nice and clean. The evening shows are really good but pretty loud. The food is great. They have buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For dinner you can also reserve a table at one of the 3 restaurants. I did that and it's a nice change from the buffet food that is kinda the same every day (but still good!). To reserve a table have to go in person to the front desk/guest service on the same day until 4pm though. The staff at reception is terrible. They are not helpful or friendly at all.. Don't expect help from them. Rather ask other employees at the hotel, they are much nicer!

Disappointed

Upon our arrival all we wanted was to go to our room and relax, instead we were detained for about an hour to get us to sign up to go to a presentation. During our week stay we had about 4 other encounters like this one. At the end of our stay we found ourselves avoiding these people at all cost. The first afternoon there one of the cleaning crew came in without even knocking on our door of course we complained but nothing was done about it. It was cheap and well we got we paid for I guess. We will not me coming back.
