Decent hotel for the price

The hotel is a bit dated, and the service is OK, some of the personnel were great and friendly, while some others were not so much, some looked just unhappy. The entertainment was great, definitely a highlight. The food was good, Mexican nigit was outstanding. The room was OK. No free internet anywhere, and after paying 36 dollars for wifi for one phone, the connection was very slow.

Wonderful Staff

Pros: The service and the folks working there
Cons: The bedsheets are dry, rough on the skin and not warm enough
Location: Skip the taxi and take the bus R2 to Mercado 28, you will see all Cancun Hotels along the way with shopping center and other beaches to go to.
My husband and I spent 3 nights at Royal Solaris and the service there is excellent. The staff is very welcoming and that made all the difference. We checked in with no problem, the front desk young lady was bilingual, thorough and pleasant. We were brought drinks while checking in, but they were awful. The concierge who assisted us next got us some pina coladas that made up for it. He brought us to the seating area to give us information, which turned out he was getting us to attend some presentation. Though he was very nice and funny, I thought it was an inconsiderate move since we had just arrived and we were tired and hungry. Our room was spacious, the hot water was really hot, the jacuzzi was amazing. The bed sheets are dry and rough, yet Carlos our room keeper laid everything so nicely and gave us extra sheets. The main dining experience was amazing our dinner waiter Angel Galindo made every night memorable, he surprised us with all kinds of drinks and made every dinner enjoyable. Caring, dedicated and hard working young man. Garcia, Esteban and Gallardo also were excellent waiters, Garcia got me a special and did an awesome Tequila shot trick while Manuela told us jokes. Beautiful, warm, kind folks. Overall, the drinks are ok but lacking, the Tequila good, the main dining area food is good, the pool side pizza blah, the pool side burger ..no comments, just say no! The service and people amazing!

Wonderful ocean views

We have stayed at Grand Solaris and wanted to enjoy better ocean views with Royal Solaris. The views did not disappoint. We were upgraded to an ocean view. The room staff and room was nice, clean and the refrigerator stocked with the drinks we wanted. The food is much more geared to local customers and was sub par. If you want bacon at breakfast you have to ask for it. It is not in plain site at the buffet for non-members. We sat at the same pool chairs during our stay and the same bird doo was on the chair all week. Alejo at check in and check out was not smiling or very receptive. When we checked out we asked why he didnt smile. He responded because he was working. The activities were fun and we participated. Oliver and Frida were great! The shows are really great at both hotels. The mime show was lacking. I was served a broken glass both at breakfast and the Marco Polo restaurant. So for amazing views and a clean room and bed, you will enjoy your stay. We have a great time wherever we go. But don't stay for the food. There is no sandwich shop (with ice cream) to go eat when your meal is bad like at Grand Solaris.

Worth booking

My husband and I stayed here for about a week. Check in was easy and the staff was very friendly. The beach was close by and very beautiful. I didn’t have any complaints. The only negative thing I can think of is that the sushi doesnt taste fresh. But that’s not really an issue because there’s so many good options at the resort.

Nice hotel on beach

Pros: Nice hotel right on beach. Friendly staff. All inclusive includes some water activities such as kayaking which we like. Night show is great.

Nice hotel in Cancun

Overall we had a great experience; the pools were nicely located near the beach with amazing views of the ocean and coast. The food overall was good but would suggest more variety in the nicer restaurants. The room was clean and had a neat and cool family room. The hotel’s staff were amazingly friendly specially Rosa Linda at the pool, always greeting us with a beautiful smile and superb attitude, in spite we were a party of 15 people. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable!!

Very nice hotel esp for the price

This hotel is perfect for the price. The staff are amazing hard working and friendly and everywhere is always clean. The only downfall if i must give one is the food, I'd give the food a 6 to 7 out of 10. Its a little bland sometimes at one particular restaurant, the indoor downstairs one. Otherwise perfect!!! I enjoyed my stay so much i wouldn't change anything.

Not all inclusive!

We spent $10 per day per electronic device for wifi. They charged us $16 per person for airport shuttle. The food was the same every day. The pool was freezing. We had to sit through a 2 hour high pressure sales pitch to buy a timeshare for 30 years!!!!
