Hotel CareFree Inn was below my expectation

Cons: breakfast needs to improve
The hotel is located in a quiet zone close to I-610.

Mis leading phots

The photos online are pretty and unique. When we arrived it looked horrible and extremly old and run down.

Avoid by all means

Check in is at 3 we waited 35 minutes for someone to come check us in and once she did come shr had a nasty attitude. The room was horribly outdated. The doors seem unsecure and ragedy. The lights actually have a twist timer to control the lights. I would never stay here again.

I will never ever recommend this motel to anyone. I was a bad night and dangerous place.

Terrible Hotel

Pros: Location is close to astrodome
Cons: Just about everything
AC was unplugged, room smelled stale and moldy. The AC unit was a wall unit and the surround had sheets of aluminum foil as the insulation from the outside. AC was very noisy. Everything in the room was unplugged and I had to pug them all in. TV, Cable Box, and all lamps were unplugged. Bathroom smelled and virtually no hot water in the morning. Cold shower certainly was not great! Super hard mattress. I am a technical person and the TV remote was more than complicated, I ended up sleeping the the TV on, I could not turn it off or the volume down, was to tired to unplug it.....

AVOID AT ALL COST

Pros: Not one single thing.
Cons: Demolish it and build a fast food restaurant on the site.
Location: It isn't far from many things but getting out of the parking lot makes it very difficult.
We stayed at this hotel because it was one of the few we could find on short notice.This was a nightmare from the moment we pulled up to check into the Inn. The lady was friendly when we checked in but, once we saw our room and started questioning things, the friendliness stopped. Our room reeked! The mothball smell was so bad we tossed out our food and left to go somewhere to eat. The comforters on the beds where thin and right out of the 1970's. The pillows were lumpy. We had to make a visit to the local Target to get pillows and room freshener. The bathroom door stuck and it took two of us to get it open. The sink stopper was down and when we tried to raise it, the knob pulled right out. The next night when we got back to the room the sink stopper was still closed. When we asked about it we were yelled at and asked why we pushed it down, it should stay open. Internet access was available, you just couldn't get connected. The hotel staff finally came up to try and get us connected but they couldn't do it either. They said it was our problem not theirs. The lights in the bathroom and vanity area were on timers that didn't work. They would turn on but not off. There is no vent in the bathroom so you better leave the door open or everything ends up wet. Getting out of the parking lot is a nightmare. You just pray there will be a friendly driver that will stop and let you onto the road. I've run out of room to finish this review. AVOID AT ALL COST!

I would never stay there again.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: push it down and rebuild
Location: It is outside the loop. From now on I will stay inside the loop. I did not feel safe so I would do nothing near there
This is not a safe or clean place to stay. I would stay at Motel 6 first. I kept my sox on because he floors were dirty. Faulty electric plugs. I turned the air on 60 to get the room half way comfortable.

Close to Everything

We went to Houston to visit with our son and family while he was getting the medical tests he needed. We stayed two nights. Our room was nicely appointed, however the bathroom is quite small. The room was clean and we had TV and wireless internet. There is a continental breakfast daily included in the price of the room. The area around the motel has plenty of restaurants, some within walking distances of our room. The traffic was horrendous! You need to be an aggressive driver. Getting out of the motel was difficult even when you had to turn right. Texas has these roundabouts which if one gets off at the wrong exit they can go under the overpass and get right back on going the other direction. Believe me, we did this more than once. I loved that about Texas!! All in all we had a good stay and a Big Thank you to the staff making us feel welcome.

Horrendous

This was probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and that's including the $5 a night hostels in South - East Asia I stayed in as a student backpacker. For a start, our room had gaol-like three small square windows near the ceiling, with only one providing any natural light. The room stunk of several stenchy "air freshners," the floor was uneven, the shower was dirty and had sharp tape strapped near the drain which spiked your feet, the shower pressure was at best a dribble and when it did, the water was a rusty colour, the TV was broken, the bathroom light was on a timer, the toilet was not fixed to the ground so it rocked when you sat on it, the air conditioner - which was essential for this sauna of a room - sounded like a jet engine. Wifi was patchy but ok. Continental breakfast was average. We were only there for 2 nights so we could head to an NFL game but we stayed out for as long as we could so we didn't have to head back to our room. I know you get what you pay for but this was outrageous and depressing. Maybe we were unlucky and just got the worst room?

Great value

Pros: Cleanliness
Location: We stayed at this hotel while visiting a nearby hospital. It was very convenient even though we did not take advantage of the free shuttle.
This hotel is perfect for us. It delivers exactly what it claims. Great value. Very clean. Staff that cares.
