I usually do not write reviews. However, to help future travelers pick a property that is right for them I wanted to share my experience at Wyndham Houston near NRG Park. I do take full responsibility for not researching a bit more about this property before making our bookings. It was a quick decision as we were in town visiting our niece who was at MD Anderson and needed a hotel near the hospital. As far as location this property was not bad. However, the cleanliness of this property was unfortunately below mine as well as my extended family's standard. Just walking to our rooms we had an uneasy feeling from the smell of the hallways alone. I do give this property the benefit of the doubt as this is an older building that undoubtably would have some odor. Not an issue, definitely understandable. But upon entering the bathrooms of 2 of the 3 rooms we reserved, there were RAT droppings, no not mice droppings. they were on the floor near the toilet as well as on top of the "fresh towels". When I called the front desk they did send a house keeper who picked up the droppings but never returned with fresh towels. We were never offered any compensation OR fresh towels. We did check in later in the night and were pretty tired after our experience at the Cancer Center so we had no other option but to stay. Needless to say we were all pretty grossed out and were super happy to be home the next night. I hope this review helps anyone looking to book at this property.

We got to our destination earlier than expected. The woman at the front desk was extremely helpful in getting us a room in just a few minutes! Even made it so we didn’t have to move our stuff in and out of a new room. Will for sure be back and rent the suite again. We loved it.

No air conditioner in our room. They moved our rooms and the new room never got below 75! The elevators do not work and they do not have anyone to help you move your things. I would not recommend staying here if you can avoid it!!!

Alan was a really nice guy, was able to provide us with great recommendations for restaurants for our first stay in HTown! And the hotel itself is one of the best looking Wyndham hotels I’ve stayed in

I booked a Junior Suite. The room was huge and it had 2 bathrooms which is a definite perk! My stay was during Rodeo Season and its literally a 5 minute walk to get inside the gates at NRG Stadium. Parking was $20 so very affordable. Very quiet considering its next to a freeway and the major event that was happening. The bar is nice and there is an outside patio. Food was ok. Front desk was very welcoming. This is an older property and could use some upgrades inside the room but overall it was a wonderful experience!

Property is very old and need renovations, the shower made a loud noise and the handle vibrates while you’re showering, the bar on the first floor has live music that you can clearly hear in your room so it was hard to sleep. We went during Rodeo season and they were charging guests to park in the property, which normally comes included in the hotel stay price.

Stayed here for the rodeo. Was convenient. Check in staff were very welcoming and kind. Checked out and then after about an hour down the road realized my AirPods were left in the room. My fault. Immediately called guest services. They said they were not found in the room even though location is showing to still be in the room. My fault for not double checking just a shame there aren’t honest people left in this world. 😭 Overall. Location is great for events at NRG.

Toilets were not working properly. One when you flushed the water came up like it was going to run over before it went down. The other you had to wait 20 minutes to use again. Heater did not work and it was 72 degrees all night extremely cold. All was reported to front desk

The rooms are not what was listed on the internet. We got there and they gave us a room where construction was happening and could see all the scaffolding and mess that was happening.. room smelled like some type of construction adhesive.

The hotel was older but nice. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is the hallway we were put in had extensive work being done on it for the four days we were there. I realize the work needs to be done but our room was next to work being done and a lot of times it sounded like they were going to come through the wall. Otherwise, very nice property that is close to most everything downtown.

We had a suite and it was very nice and clean. The bar/grill was lacking. All the barstools were moved away from the bar and you could not sit at the bar. None of the tvs were on anything interesting. Definitely had a low energy vibe. All the employees were very nice and helpful.

Think twice about staying here
This hotel was absolutely filthy. We had to switch rooms 3 times. The first room was dingy and had black stuff from the vent all over the bed. The second room was the same. The 3rd room was better but had mold all ove the shower, you could see through the crack in the door, the AC did not work, frozen ice on the window. We had to ask for clean towels and take out our own trash. Positive- water pressure was great in shower and Angela who worked the front desk was extremely nice.

Uuummm 2/3 nights no air conditioning makes for HOT and uncomfortable sleeping- up at night etc. I would go out of my way feom staying here again.
