Budget Value & Good Quality

Pros: hidden, inexpensive, rooms available, convenient near Bwy8 & I-10
Cons: improve the "continental breakfast" - that was disappointing, and I early (0700)
Location: Bear Creek Park; Race (horse) Track (north on Bwy8), Galleria shopping;
* Check-in - super easy * Staff - kind and helpful * Facilities / lobby / hallway - clean, in good repair- no smell of smoke noticeable, but also no "incense" smell to blast you in the face when you walk in! (Rare these days) - I hate strong smells of any kind! - At the end of my hallway by my room, there was a wad of sheets and bed comforter. perhaps cleaning had it fall off their carts while cleaning, or a patron decided to rid his room of those things?!?! - Funny/ kind of funny - the exit signs at the end of the hallway near stair well had the wrong arrow punched out pointing to the direction of the stairs- instead pointed to a room! LOL - perhaps they changed the bulb inside and put it on backwards? * Room - spacious, - kitchenette: 2 burner stove, full sized refrigerator, sink, cabinets, microwave (no dishes borrow or bring your own?) - Beds - fairly firm, but padded - didn't sag or send stingers of springs poking into me. Roommate said he felt coils tho - so, try it for yourself- I typically hate all beds but my own and I was pleasantly surprised. 3-4 pillows per bed with varying firmness/fullness - hypoallergenic too! - Bathroom - super-flush system sounds like a jet will take off - no worries about it not flushing! Sink and tub worked well - lots of water- didn't seem like a water-saving shower head- I likened it to full blast from a water hose! * "Continental Breakfast" - HUGE disappointment- coffee and 1 muffin - no fruit/cereal/nothing.

It fulfilled my purpose for being there

Pros: close to Memorial Herman Hospital.
Cons: I had requested a handicap room but was put on second floor instead.
residents were loud at night and in the hall. The fan in bathroom made a loud noise. Did not have a shower curtain. Otherwise it was fine.

Supposed to be smoke free, smelled weed everywhere

Staff seemed to not want to be working. They did not have my reservation, if I did not insist then I would have to have to look for another hotel that night. The bathrooms pipes made noise the whole night. The whole third floor smelled like weed and I even found a lighter on one of the crevases when I sat on the room chair.

Pleasent place to stay

Pros: Close to meeting place.
Cons: More choice for breckfast
Main problem I found was having to ask for Coffee pot, coffee and anything for the kitchen. Did wish that things were in the room for eating. Also did not get towels replaced during the stay without asking. Most places I have stayed towels were replaced each day. Also only Chocolate Muffins available, I do not eat chocolate.

The bed was awful. Very hard. No room service for 2 days.

It was clean and adequate.

It was some trouble to get the kitchen items in order to cook. And there was only one teeny squeeze pack of dish soap (which seemed ridiculous). It would have been nice if there had been a plastic scrubber of some sort.

Bring your cleaning supplies and toilet paper

Pros: The front desk staff, who were uniformly professional, pleasant, and friendly.
Cons: hire a cleaning service and inspect their work
I was encouraged on arrival to find pleasant and friendly front desk staff. However, my level of concern began to rise as I made my way to the room along a dimly lit, worn and dirty hallway. The decor in the room didn't help the impression made by sticky floors, a nearly complete lack of amenities (even the two meager wafers of fresh soap were gritty), and a simply filthy bathroom - including what appeared to be a tuft of pubic hair in the sink drain, hair in the tub, dirty counters and walls, and a dirty toilet with something dripped down the front and grunge around the seat hinges. Oh, and there was no toilet paper - not on the roll, and not on the shelf. I will not be back.

The bed was horrid. The room doesn't offer a shampoo and conditioner . Smelled funny.
