private owned

This hotel does not meet the holiday inn express standards! In fact, I don't trust the name brand after this experience! I will now switch to marriott. They keep up with their private owned subsidiaries! Holiday inn needs to keep a better eye on their private owned franchises!!!!!! Yuck!

Son going to college in the area

Posted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: Very clean and the room was very spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful and really enjoyed helping people. The breakfast was delightful.
Cons: Please remove coffee maker out of the bathroom.
Location: Close to great restaurants and near all the colleges in the area, i.e. , Rice, Houston, and Texas Southern Universities.
This was our first time staying at this hotel and it did not disappoint. Very clean and the staff was very attentive. Check in was quick and smooth. Parking lot is a little small , but I was always able to find a parking space even after going out to dinner and arriving back at the hotel after 9 pm. There are quite a few homeless people in the area, but they did not canvass the hotel area.

Staff gave out my personal information

Posted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: Room was nice.
Cons: Privacy Policy, Staff Interaction with Guests when Confronted with an Issue
Location: Free Press Summer Fest
Stayed during the weekend of Free Press Summer Fest - the room was nice. I wasn't pleased however, to have my room phone blowing up at 2am Sunday Morning because the staff told someone I was staying there.. I was also woken up at 7am Sunday morning with a crazy woman (whom I don't know) pounding on my door demanding that her husband was inside. Seeing that there were several people in my room, and it was only my name on the room, the only way she would have gotten our room # would be from the front desk. You'd also think they'd call the room to notify that a visitor was present, but no. I've called the manager, D****d, several times leaving messages with no returned phone calls or any sort of communication to come to a resolution. Coming from a manager stand-point, I understand that they needed time to check their security footage & audio, but I'd say two weeks is enough time to look in to something and get back to a paying customer that they've caused a disturbance with. I would not recommend staying here if you're looking for management to stand up to their own employees about the guest's privacy. There obviously is no privacy policy here & no concern about their guest's safety.. I'm just glad the crazy woman didn't have a gun & I didn't end up on the next new episode of Snapped as a murder victim, due to the hotel staff's complete disregard of my safety. Again, the room was nice, but the staff needs to own up to their own actions & create some sort of resolution.

great hotel

Posted May 12, 2015 on Hotels
We went to Houston to visit the zoo and downtown aquarium. This hotel was close to both and many other attractions. Room was clean and comfortable, the maid came while we were out and did a great job cleaning up. Breakfast is delicious and has so many options!! We will definitely stay there again!

Excellent service. Beds and bathroom clean. Great breakfast. The hotel is a little old and dirty.
