love the area

Pros: the room is so cozy
Cons: elevators?
hotel was the best! love their gym, their staff are really friendly and despite the old feel, they are doing upgrades and its still a very nice hotel!

Very Dated Hotel

I stayed here as I had meetings nearby. Though the room was clean and comfortable, the hotel is VERY dated (from early 80s) and needs some renovations, some of which they are carrying on in the lobby which makes it nearly impossible to have conversations on the lobby or lounge. The staff is very kind and they do offer a shuttle service to nearby areas (City Center, etc.) which is nice. This place just needs to be brought into 2016.

Nice hotel, close to everything!

It was a very good location. The hotel was close to downtown, close to Galleria, close to where I wanted to visit. The location was very convenient. The rooms are nice too so we're staff. The elevators were under construction so only one of them was working but it wasn't too bad.

Nice but noisy! Did not sleep...

Good location and amenities our room (658) had view of downtown skyline, was nicely appointed with comfortable bedding, HOWEVER, the loud music from club/bar 5 floors below continued til WAY past midnight and consequently neither of us slept well.

The hotel was very nice. Fast checkin and clean room. Nice staff. They are remodeling but that's wasn't an issue.

Awesome getaway!

Chose this hotel to visit Houston for thanksgiving and upon arriving, not fully knowing what are dinner/thanksgiving meal was going to be, they were serving a lunch buffet at reasonable extra fee. The meal was fantastic, room was great, and the staff was friendly. My family and I have decided that any time we will visit Houston this will be our first choice for sure!

It was quick, clean, and great price. The breakfast was expensive though. The pool was great. There was no bottled water in gym even though the mini fridge had a sign stating there was free water.

Beautiful hotel, close to everything.

We where very pleased with our room overall, clean, no smell stocked with all toiletries ect....but only 2 elevators were working so we had long lines to enter.The few day we were there from 9pm until 4am their was a party in a few rooms. Doors slammed every few minutes. Other than that it was great.

Nice Hotel. Convenient location

Pros: Staff. Design and layout. Food
Location: Several restaurants and some shopping nearby
We were recently visiting relatives in the area and chose the Marriott for it's convenience and past experience with the hotel chain. Beautiful hotel. Good ample parking. Nice breakfast buffet. We were on the 5th floor and it was a bit noisy with other customers. The room was nice but unfortunately our heat was not working. Normally not a problem in Houston but the weather was cool and the room did not warm up.
