Nice hotel right on boardwalk

Posted Mar 11, 2017
I absolutely love everything about this hotel except the maids clearly don't understand the do not disturb sign hanging on the door. The first morning we were bothered twice by the maids by them knocking on the door. I have a sleeping baby so yes I say bothered. The next morning the same thing and they start knocking at 9am when checkout isn't until 11am. I prefer my baby to sleep while I get ready so it was a bit frustrating but other then that a great stay.

Awesome Stay at the Kemah Boardwalk Inn

Posted Mar 11, 2017
Pros: The proximity to all the restaurants and rides. You can't beat it. Of course, it might get noisy if there are a lot of people visiting Kemah.
Cons: Front desk staff
Location: Moody Gardens, IHOP, Chick Fil A, Galveston Beach, Pleasure Pier, The strand
The hotel has their own parking lot which you can use on the second floor which leads you right into the main lobby area. We did not know that so we parked on the lower level and walked all the way around the Kemah Boardwalk businesses to finally reach the front lobby. Once we know about it, we parked on the second floor and it was very convenient. The room faced the bay and it was light and airy. The beds were very comfortable and the housekeeping staff was very courteous. The only negative was the staff at the front desk, they were very bored looking and did not have a customer service vibe at all. They did not seem happy to be there and indifferent to us staying there. They weren't even busy with other customers so not sure why they wouldn't greet us in a cheerful manner and welcome us there. It was almost as bad as when you go to a counter and they just press a button and say "Next". It did not matter either way to them if we enjoyed our stay or not. Very weird because everyone else that worked there in some kind of maintenance or housekeeping position seemed so happy to have a job there and really stood out as welcoming and happy. Front Desk personnel needs a course on customer service and check their problems or egos at the door. Better yet, get new staff who really want the job and are willing to promote this wonderful hotel.

Nice for a short stay

Room was nice but, could use curtains. The blinds on the window and balcony door didn't block much light from the balcony. The room was so bright we had trouble sleeping.

Comfortable

Posted Feb 7, 2017
Pros: Nice parking garage with restaurants, shops and amusement park within walking distance. Room was very nice.
We stayed here for the Superbowl because it was outside of Houston's price gouging on hotel rates. We were 35 minutes from downtown Houston. If we ever travel to Houston or Galveston again, we will be staying at the Boardwalk Inn.

Nice hotel close to good restaurants, view of gulf

Posted Feb 3, 2017
Had a great stay at Kemah Boardwalk Inn. Staff is nice enough, rooms are very nice and clean with outdoor balcony and the views are very nice, especially from the northeast facing balconies. Going from JSC to the hotel only takes 15 minutes in rush hour traffic though it looks more daunting than it is.

Nice hotel in good location

Posted Jan 27, 2017
My husband and I stayed here and really enjoyed our stay. Our suite was very clean and spacious . Walking to several restaurants was very convenient. Staff at front desk was nice and helpful but many times we walked by but they didn't even look up to say hello. Overall experience was very good.

Modern hotel with view

Posted Jan 27, 2017
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing
Location: Boardwalk fun and restaurants
Kemah Boardwalk inn was clean, modern and right in the heart of all of the fun the boardwalk has to offer. I had a partial view of the water and it was wonderful. The staff was great and I felt safe and was happy the parking was free.
