Awesome Stay at the Kemah Boardwalk Inn

The hotel has their own parking lot which you can use on the second floor which leads you right into the main lobby area. We did not know that so we parked on the lower level and walked all the way around the Kemah Boardwalk businesses to finally reach the front lobby. Once we know about it, we parked on the second floor and it was very convenient. The room faced the bay and it was light and airy. The beds were very comfortable and the housekeeping staff was very courteous. The only negative was the staff at the front desk, they were very bored looking and did not have a customer service vibe at all. They did not seem happy to be there and indifferent to us staying there. They weren't even busy with other customers so not sure why they wouldn't greet us in a cheerful manner and welcome us there. It was almost as bad as when you go to a counter and they just press a button and say "Next". It did not matter either way to them if we enjoyed our stay or not. Very weird because everyone else that worked there in some kind of maintenance or housekeeping position seemed so happy to have a job there and really stood out as welcoming and happy. Front Desk personnel needs a course on customer service and check their problems or egos at the door. Better yet, get new staff who really want the job and are willing to promote this wonderful hotel.
